I need to know is there any way to get a 99 TL faster off the line. For some reason it seems slow on take off. I have the AEM CAI, that helped a bit but would the VTEC controler help me.

The cheapest way to go faster is to spray. I dont see how a VTEC controller is going to make you signifigantly faster off the line. Make sure your TCS is off, and possible better tires would help you.

I really dont know what spray means, can you explain? The VTEC controler can change the time the VTEC activates. Super Charger is the way to go but its too expensive, but it adds 60hp & 40 lbs of torque. headers add like 35hp a bit cheaper. I thought these motors would have been able to be simply worked on to make the car faster off the line but i guess not. BTW I rather have 99 TL than a rice civic.

It's been talked about here before, but the VTEC controller is good once you have all the other mods you can possibly get, and then it still requires a bit of work to get things set up correctly. I would say get the RES, or pre-order it, along with some headers.

OK, now I have no idea what a RES is or what it does, or even the price. Can u help me out here. I think I am going to get the headers. BTW thanks for letting me know that the VTEC controler is the last mod, I did some research on it and and found out thats true.

CAI does not help much off the line. It needs airflow to really help. Check out the post by asiankidd. There was alot of good launch talk there.

When my 99 TL was stock, I thought it launched off the line pretty quick. I think I got one of the quicker ones.

BTW, what we really need is more torque!

The RES won't work on 99's anyways. Headers won't give you power off the line, only high end. RES will be about the only thing that would help you off the line. A RES for 99's is on the works.

NOS or supercharger would also help you.
