NE people (Import Wars)
Is anyone from the New England area going to Import Wars this saturday morning (8/24) at NE Dragway? Have any of you gone in the past and if so what is it like? What is the quality of cars we would see? Do they get a lot of nice cars and fast cars at this event?
I am thinking about going but I don't want to make an hour trip, pay 10 bucks (I'm cheap) and see some crappy imports that a) I can smoke and b) my car looks better! I'm not saying my car is all that I just don't want to see Bone stock cars with stickers or cars with just Bostello exhausts or the like. I want to see some fast cars (Supras, M3s, ZXs, type Rs, etc) or some decked out cars (doesn't matter as long as they look good!). Let me know if any of you have gone before or are interested in going. Maybe we can make it a NE mini-meet.
Thanks

You'll probably see the same cars thats in every show around the New England/NYC area. If you went to the ImportEvolution/Expression (whatever its call) this past June at the Bayside Expo. I gurantee you, you'll see the same **** at the NH Speedway. Especially, you'll see the same Hi-Tech Import Team there too.

It is offical, I will be competing in the Import Wars at the NED.
I am planning on being there at 7:30 AM. Gates oprn at 8:00AM. Trial times start at 9:00 AM and Eliminations start at 1:00 PM.
I will be competeting in Braket Street Class ( no slick) and maybe shout out Street Class. (Heads-up Pro tree).
Any ideas on how Braket time should be lower than my best trial time? I am planning on .2 lower. If I hit 14.5s, I would Braket at 14.3s
If you are attending/competeing email me or PM me. We can exchange Cell Phone numbers and meet there.

As for the Show, I did not have chance to see it. I guess it was packed with a lot of hoocked-up cars. And, by noon, the tropheys were being awareded in bunches.
I was very busy drooling over the RaceTech Prepared cars (in the racers pit): a brand new 996 Porsche Turbo, A NOSed 2002 M3, and Porsche Carerra and 1/2 dozen more of nice cars... In addition, I drolled over an all-motor integra done by a local tuner (Wang motorsports in Pelham, NH) called Picatcho 2. The dial-in just 13.3s!!! The M3 was also in low 13s ( no-NOS). The most annoying thing is to see a 3.5 Altima 5-sp with dial-in of 14.2s!
Well about the CL-S, It was damn humid (100%) and temp is 66.
I was running a consitent 14.945s to 15.05s. I saw 4 other CLS none broke below 15s. RSX-S were in high 15s, like 15.6s and up.
The best good thing is its consitency and I eliminated another guy easily. The elimation run:
Him .... Me....
Dial: 17.30 14.90
R/T 1.11 0.655
60' 2.547 2.352
1/4 17.8 15.069
ET 77.03 93.07
I outpaced him by 0.7872 s
Then the event was concelled due to rain.
Other runs.. I beated SC400 no problem by 1.5s. he run 16.22 and I run 15.045 !! (see how consitent!)
I was smoked by a tubro Eclipse he run 13.764 to mine of 14.94.
And 3 more trial runs. Of a special note, a teen in his blue Si Civic with the help of Vortech SC running 14.2 at 98 MPH!!!
I will do my best to attend October Event too!, In any case I can reuse my $25 ticket as rain check!
Later, I will post all timeslips.

I'll definitely go adn run in Oct
I need to get updated programming first. I'll go all out, race fuel program, 15" wheels and no spare. My first time at the strip was a couple of weeks ago and my best was only a 15.9 @ 88 mph. My 60ft times were crap at 2.3 sec. I know there is plenty of room for improvement. Time to start practicing.
