Navigation works but clock not working
#122
This happened to me yesterday, 8/17/17 at exactly 3:00pm Pacific. I remember looking at the clock thinking I'm making really great time. Then when I looked again 10 min later and it still said 3:00 I knew something was wrong. Glad I came here first before spending a bunch of time trying to troubleshoot it. I guess I'll just wait a bit and see what happens.

2001 Acura MDX Clock Nav
I have been trying everything as well trying to fix this issue since yesterday. What is this a Y2K bug?!?! HA Maybe it's the Solar Eclipse that is coming on Monday... Either way, if anyone hears or takes their car into a Dealership to get this resolved, can you please post on here. It is driving me nuts! I'm so glad I'm not the only one, but SO weird to have this happen to all of us on the same day. I actually had my car in for repairs and picked it up yesterday and it was 0:00 so I called and blamed the mechanic for messing it up. Opps. Now I need to call and apologize...

Okay... I called Acura customer service. Their tech department has NO IDEA why this is happening and said, the Navigation system has to be reset ONLY at the dealership as the normal way of resetting it doesn't seem to be working. They were just made away of this yesterday and today. Sounds like crap we have to take it into the dealership...how much is this going to cost all of us?!?!

Not really, there is simply some kind of bug that gets triggered when a certain date value is set. Hidden bombs like this are all over (The big Unix time bomb comes in 2038 when the 32 bit time counter wraps around) and every affected device triggers at the same time. As for what exactly the bug is in this case, we'll probably never know unless someone with access to the code releases some info. Most likely they will do nothing, and hopefully it resolves itself like the '99 models did. Oh please oh please...

0:00 time
Add me to the (patiently or not so patiently) waiting list.
2001 CL here, I thought I would have to comb through a few different threads from years back, but lo and behold it's a current problem! This reminds me of back when our cars weren't quite so old and we were all posting on here.
Wonder if the NSX is having any clock issues?

I heard back from my local Acura dealer and their technicians have no idea about the 00:00 clock issue either; they said they checked service bulletins for this issue and nothing showed up. They suggested it was an electrical problem and would perform a diagnostic for $139.95. I commented that it doesn't make sense that it's an electrical problem since everything else works, the map works, entering an address works, etc. They don't have a clue. Good information above and will post any info I may come across...

2000 Acura TL Navi Clock reads 0:00
Add me to the list. On August 16, 2017 at approximately 5 pm Pacific Time my 2000 Acura TL clock began to display 0:00 and nothing can be done about it.I disconnected the car battery and waited 20-minutes, then reconnected it and entered the radio code and the Navi code, but the clock still displays 0:00. It will not let me adjust the clock at all. All other functions on the Navi work just fine.
I think it has something to do with not getting a clock signal from the Acura satellite. I called Acura in Torrance yesterday to report it.

I thought mine stopped showing the time when i disconnected the antenna to program the radio (didn't feel like driving to an underground garage) but as i reconnected the antenna, still reads 0:00, it was about 4:33pm PST when i last saw an actual time. (The Acura Gps satellite has crashed and burned, updates didn't synchronize, or the aliens) anyhow. Add me to the list as well.

I have a 2000 Acura RL and noticed the problem on 8/16/17. Clock stuck at 0:00. Tried adjusting the clock, disconnected battery for 30 minutes, ejected then re-inserted dvd then internet. Seems to me this is a known issue and why there is no fix is beyond me. Well, like the others, I will have to wait it out or until some one comes up with a fix/work around.

Clock at 0:00 since 8/16/17
I saw that someone on this thread said they called Acura in Torrance. With all these posts about the same thing happening around the same time as last year, it would be great to hear their response. BTW, even though this happened to my 2003 TLS, it has not yet happened to my husband's 2003 MDX. We did a DVD upgrade on the MDX a couple of years ago, but not the TL because we didn't want to spend $99 for each DVD. The 2003 TL uses the black DVD and the 2003 MDX uses the orange one.
Has this happened to anyone who updated their navigation DVD or is everyone using the original one that came with the car?
Thanks!

Same car Same Issue
Can you let us know what Acura in Torrance said? We are in the same vicinity. Thank you.

Yup... This just happened to me today (August 19, 2017)... I don't know exactly when it happened because I work at home, and my car stays garaged for days at a time... but this is definitely a very recent issue...
For the record, I have a 2003 Acura TL Type-S.
Hope this gets fixed!!!

03 tl navigation works but clock does not
This happened to me on 8/16/17 where I noticed the clock is at zeros but everything else on the navigation works fine. I was also reading some post on here and also live near Acura Torrance of the South Bay but I have not had a chance to call them yet. I also try taking out the navigation disc and reinserting it but that did not work. I also tried disconnecting the battery for about 10 minutes and of the navi code and the radio code still it did not work but everything else works fine. I was also reading some other feeds on a different pose that is also happening to the 99 and 2000 TL with navigation. Hopefully it will kind of reset itself and go back to normal from what the other people saying from the other feed on here.

Everything I'm reading on other threads says: "Leave it alone and it will fix itself." If it does, please post the time/date?

Add me to the list. 2002 TL-S with Navi. Clock went to 00:00 about a week ago, which lines up quite well with Aug 16.
Must be a software bug or maybe some software engineer's idea of fun (from years ago..). I am on the latest version of the Navi software available for this model, which is still pretty old. I have not tried "downgrading" but I am wondering if that might fix the problem. OR, as others have suggested, it may depend on getting to a certain date to "fix itself."

I just opened my ticket indicating there are at least 130 threads about this issue on this site & that it is not isolated. Here is a link in the Contact Us section is an open a ticket button. Honda Customer Relations Honda Owners Site
Done
DESCRIPTION
Navigation unit showing time of 0:00 as of 08/16/17. Cannot be reset. Does not appear to be isolated as there is significant forum chatter from other owners experiencing the same issue.
