Navigation works but clock not working
#41
So two options:
You can keep the navi the way it is with a non functioning time which doesnt effect the navigation.
OR
Upgrade it to the new DVD unit....which has its plus it comes with the entire US map not like the harddrive which is limited to state if Im not mistaken.
I ended up going with the newer DVD Unit. Had a few issues at first but was eventually able to figure things out and is working with no issues and I have the time stamp now!

Welcome to the club! Its definitely a software issue and to be honest with you with all the run around I was getting with Acura and the Navigation support it doesnt seem like this is going to be something they are going to be fixing unless you want to spend a few hundred on it if they even consider wanting to fix these! Also the maps on the harddrive are much older than the DVD which the last year for these are 2013 aill no longer be making new maps for these cars from what I hear.

how much did the DVD unit cost and where did you get it? Does it replace the navigation box in the trunk?

Me too! My wife and I swapped cars on Fri. 9/16 so I could change the oil on hers. She came home from work and said, " I fixed your clock."
Of course I didn't believe her and had to see for myself. I started the car and the time was correct. No more 0:00.
It's been holding the right time since.

Reminds me of a good IT joke...A Programmer, a Field Engineer and a Salesman are driving across the desert when they get a flat tire. The salesman says, "Well, now we have to get a new car." The field engineer says, "I got a better idea. Let's rotate the tires and see if we can isolate the problem." The programmer says, "No let's keep driving and see if the problem goes away."

I'm the original owner of my '02 TL-S. And I just noticed this silly clock issue today, 16 Aug. 2017.
Now that's weird... at least 5 of us got this issue on the same day.

2g Navi Clock Issue
2G TypeS w/navi 231,000 + miles, no issues, electrical or mechanical with this car. Started car as normal this a.m.. Navi screen booted-up, at which time i shut system off, as normal. Today, however, the Navi clock displayed 00:00??? I went directly to the set-up screen and attempted to re-set the clock. The clock feature will not adjust, in hours or minutes? I pulled the clock fuse, thinking maybe this action would re-set the Navi as well. The clock fuse re-set method did not correct the issue. Any Ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.

Navigation works but clock not working
I find it interesting and possibly significant that there was a rash occurrence of this problem in 1999 TL's in late August 2016. Today -- 17 August 2017 -- the problem appeared in my 2000 TL. Since I haven't read where anyone has found a solution to the clock problem, I am hypothesizing that there may be a software flaw which causes this condition at a set number of days after system manufacture -- approximately 17 years after manufacture.

This is definitely a software glitch thats happening about this time a year for these models! I had the same issue that happened to me last year with my old hard drive unit so I ended up converting to the 03 DVD unit and was working fine. Like you all I noticed that my time was displaying 0:00 again on the DVD unit, so around this time it appears that these units go into 0:00. From what Im hearing people are stating they just left it alone and it started showing the correct time again and hasnt happened again. So this time around Im just going to ride it out! I would advise to the same to you all as well.

I was searching online for a resolution and saw this thread. I have a 2002 MDX and it happened to me as well YESTERDAY! 8/16/2017. I noticed it appox 8PM CST.
I disconnected the battery for 10 mins. Reconnected battery and waited for navi to acquire GPS lock nothing still the same. Then via diagnostic, reset the Navi to factory default, zilch. I went as far as getting the newest ( at least to me) and last update disc from Acura and overnight put in new Navi DVD. Nothing still the same.

Add me to the list as well, 03 TLS. Just noticed it this a.m. Unable to re-set clock, just displays 00:00. If it fixes itself, this will be the first time anything on any of my cars has ever fixed itself. LOL

I stumbled on another thread from last year regarding this very issue. For some reason, the thread did not appear when i searched for (navi clock issue) It appears that this is not a unique problem, and that everything from disconnecting the battery, the navi unit itself and replacing the navi internal battery, had no effect on the problem. Than, the problem mysteriously corrected itself, and the clock function went back to normal! ??? Guess I'll wait and see what happens.

Happened Yesterday to Me too 2003 TL
So weird! I am glad I found this thread. I tried to change the clock in settings but it wouldn't budge from 0:00. Rest of Navigation working fine. Guess I will have to wait to see if it self corrects

I'm glad i checked this site. My NAVI clock went to 0:00 today for the first time ---- '03 TL/S. It seems from all the prior posts, there is not a fix to this. That 3V battery in the DVD trunk unit doesn't seem to have anything to do with it. It makes sense that there is an internal software problem which is triggered by today's date. I was going to eject the last DVD and re-install, but it seems like a waste of time. It must be some bad code in the software. I doubt it will fix itself, but you never know. My car is still like new, but i guess i can live without a clock.... too bad.

Just an add-on to my prior post. The clock time won't even reset or respond to the menu. I have the NAVI unit and when i go to the setup screen, the time won't even adjust at all. It just stays on 0:00. I initially thought i could just reset the time, but it is like it is frozen. The time never moves by hitting the hour or the minute icon. What a bizarre problem. On my '03TL, the last NAVI DVD upgrade was in 2013 --- 10 years. I received a letter saying there would be no further upgrades so i bought the last one. At this point it is probably obsolete anyway. Smartphone GPS programs are probably better anyway, but it is such a bummer to have a perfect car after all these years and the damn clock doesn't work.....LOL And the issue for me is i don't even have a smart phone.....
