Navi Voice Update
Well.. I dropped my TL-S @ Brooklyn Acura aka Plaza Auto Mall... only for convenience sake. My car has been there since last thursday... they didn;t look at it until Friday afternoon supposedly... and they have no clue what they are looking at. I am going there Monday morning to see what they have done if anything! God help them if they are butchering my baby!!!
I sole my last car, a 2001 Denali after 6 months because of problems... I'd hate to see this car go like that.
OH!!! Here is the kicker.... the Service Mgr. asks me... who installed your alarm? I said wooooah!! let's not go down that road!! Typical HONDA service... no I remember why I got rid of my 96 Accord!
I'll update you guys as the story changes... anyone know Acura's Customer Service #?

Well.....I was looking for a Aegean Blue Pearl w/ Navi for a while. I called up numerous dealers in the area hesitant to call Brooklyn Acura because i've heard bad things about them. I called them up to see if they had one in stock. They said yes. I told him that I have seen the locator sheet at another dealer and they were not on the list as having one in stock. He sadi they are liars and that he was standing in the showroom looking at one!!! So I told him that I will NOT buy another color other than ABP and I would not waste my time to go out there. He said to come out he wouldnt do that to me. So I trusted him(my mistake) and went out there. It was Friday night and you know what the Belt parking lot is like on Friday night. I sat in traffic for a hour and a half, get to Acura at 7 o'clock. I had an appointment at 6:15. When I get there they never heard of the salesman I spoke to and they havent had that car in stock for months!!!! So I was pissed. I went to every dealership in Plaza Automall to find him. I found where he worked, it was in Honda, and he had already left for the day. His boss said he was new, wasnt even allowed to sell Acuras and that he would talk to him in the morning. I am actually very glad he left for the day because I would have been in jail I was so mad. Anyway if those are the people they have working there I would never let them touch anything I own. So please stay away from that place.

I know they arent the brightest bunch in the world... but my car is there.. possibly in pieces.. I just wanted to get it fixed so I can install my sound system as I can't stand the way the Acura/Blose system sounds! I'll pass by there in the morning and see how they progressed and address it from there I guess... I already put them on notice that they better NOT butcher my car as there will be a HUUUGE problem if they do... I work in Coney Island so it is not that far from me to pop in on them unexpectedly to check up on them! I know the games that dealers play.. I have many friends in the industry and they are a bunch of WHORES!!! But.. I must say I have gotten pretty good at beating them at their own game... I've already lemon lawed one car.. have anyther service mgr. eating out of the palm of my hand... I looked at Park Ave.'s web site and they look pretty legit.. so I will probably give them a try.. btw.. stay away from Brundwick Acura too!!
My friend owns a shop.. what do you think the actual cost of the Comptech springs are? I might have him give PArk Ave a call and order them at the shop rate.

I hope they get your voice fixed. If not, definitely go to Park Ave. They will tell you straight answers.
Are you looking to replace your head unit? I don't think you can unless you want to live without the voice permanently.
The NAVI voice is somehow wired into the head unit and mutes the front speakers when it comes on.

First of all... my alarm installation couldn't have screwed it up because it has worked since then... I also just noticed that my Onstar is not operating either... a fuse maybe? The Navi sends the mute signal but no voice comes out... I'm figuring that the Onstar and Navi voice are some how intertwined and if the Onstar isn't working neither will the navi... make sense?
Anyway.. here is the latest developments with Brooklyn Acura... PLEASE PLEASE!!! Do NOT bring your car there ever!!!
I showed up there @ 6:30 Monday morning to see what they have or haven't done... and sure enough the car wasn't even in the shop.. it was in their yard 4 blocks away!! When I heard this I went nucking futs!! You parked my car outside unattended... when you know they steal the headlights like crazy? His respopnse... yeah I know they do.. we repalce them all the time! HA!! Is he kidding? Then I started asking all kinds of questions... like the alarm issue.. you know as well as I do.. Acura does NOT make or install the "factory approved" alarms... they have an indenendant installer come and do it.. just like you and I would... when infact my installation would probably be better as I have better control over who does it and I am not just a number to the installer but rather a personal face. At this point he realized I knew what I was talking about and he backed down a little... although he was still pissed I showed up unannounced... I was basically calling him a liar to his face. He had my car all day Thursday... all day Friday.. and he wants me to believe that he pulled it in @ 3:30 Friday afternoon... is he joking? Start a hairy job like this that late on a Friday? He got all pissed and said I have to choices.. either leave it here... or take it. As if I wasn't taking it before he even opened his mouth. I tell him to get my car fromt he yard... the car comes out.. I inspect it for bumber dings and stuff.. and I see oil.. yes motor oil all over my hood and rear bumber... a soda can ring on my trunk and grease on my carpet.. not my mat.. my carpet. I immediately went back inside and lost it!!! I asked him where the oil came from. He said oh.. we have lifts in the yard... so maybe a car was leaking. He didn;t even offer a wash or detail!
I called Acura Customer Relations... what a cluster f^ck that is! They are 100% useless.. they basically told me that each dealer is independantly owned and operated... I said yeah.. but they are selling you product. Well we really feel bad sir... yeah ok...
Here is the kicker!!! They didn;t have time to look at my navi problem... but while I was washing my car..yes I had to clean the car myself... I noticed they changed my license plate frames... I had $50 in chrome frames with Acura etched in them. By luck Acura Customer Realtions called me and I told them this... he contacted the dealer and they told him I was lying!! HAHAHAH!! Do you believe this!??!?!
I think it is time to go to the Lexus dealer!! This car will be a record for the shortest lived... my Denali was 6 months.. this will only be 2 months! What a farse!
I know I left out a lot of the details.. but this is the overall jist of what happened.. in the interim I have an appt. for the 13th with Park Ave. We'll see what those geniuses have to say.

i bought my car from plaza auto and and did my first services there... didnt like it at all... never went back there and never will.... now i do my service at Park Ave and very happy about it... you should just take it to park ave.. cant go wrong there....
Dude I told you not to take the car there. They are by far the worst dealer on the face of the earth. Don't hate the car because of the stupid people you took your car to. Take it to Park Ave and see what they have to say. I feel your pain man I am getting angrt just reading that. I called Acura also and seem to have gotten the same response as you...."Well thats a dealer level problem" OK but they are selling ACURA'S. I actually told him I was going to go to an Infiniti dealer and he started laughing.
Man, that is totally messed up that they left your car that trashy. Absolutely unacceptable!
Since neither the dealer nor Acura Customer Service are willing to rectify the situation, I would seriously suggest you file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Make sure you send the dealer and Acura C.S. a copy of that complaint!

Dude... I really don't have the patience to write letters for the simple reason that they are just going to treat it as another number to them... which will only further frustrate me!!! We'll see what Park Ave. does for me.. if I am not happy with them either it is straight off to the Lexus dealer or Ford for a new Excursion.
