NAVI Usage

How many times per month do you use your NAVI? I've had mine for 2 months and haven't "used" it once... played with it alot, but not needed it since 99% of my driving is local.

I wish instead of a map database, I could load my Pocket PC info with contact info, dates, etc. and tie it into a phone. That way I could have either a voice activation system or "touch and talk." Is there anyway to do this?

Ok, I'll bite. Because the areas I drive around in are largely unfamiliar to me I use my navi quite frequently (as opposed to the times when I just "play around" with it). But I knew I wanted a car w/navi the minute I saw one in my Dad's Lexus. Mostly because I get lost easily, and to a lesser extent, to satisfy my "gadget" fever.

So what inspired you to get the navi?

As for your second question... I haven't heard of anyone attempting this so I'd have to say that it doesn't sound very doable. But you never know... some of the things TL owners come up with never cease to amaze me! Maybe someone will figure out a way to implement your idea, too.

Later,

V.

I use mine at least once a week. Sometimes I'll be driving from a place I know to another place I know, but the navi will show me a whole new route I never knew existed.

Definitely worth the $$$$ in my case.

I use it sometimes... but just the look on my brothers face when I gave him a "gift" of all my maps was worth it. The best part is being able to go for a country drive without worrying how to get back - just enjoing the road... and the car.

I use it daily to visit my clients - I'll plug in over 5 routes at a time and add them to the "today's destinations" and then let it pick a route for all of them for me - I just moved here not too long ago so that's probably why I'm using it so much. Of course, I love it when someone says "meet me at so-and-so..." and I all need is the address...nothing else
