Navi to non-navi

While my transmission is getting fixed, I've been thinking about this. i don't use the thing and i rather have an up to date navi. Plus i only want to have one screen in my dash in the near future that does dvd and navi already. Would everything be plug and play if i decide on doing this when i get my car back.

you can buy a kit thats plug and play to connect dvd or cameras or whatever you want-to the stock nav screen
see Doms Nav2Go in sponsored sales

a new updated nav disc is $150 or so for the stock system, it will have more streets--

but its still a 10 year old system and no match for a modern portable,, for the same price as an update disc

he's talking about getting rid of his navigation period going back to conventional climate controls and having navigation/video/audio/backup camera all in one stereo unit.

yeah i'm sure it's possible, dunno how much it'd cost ya

you do understand than loses the electronic controls for the ac/heat system
Would need a center panel from a non navi and whateve cables and etc to hook that up

the Nav2Go is popular option is why I mention it

i dunno, i don't have oem nav, but i know what he's going through, i thought about going oem nav, but i was like, psssh, why not get a double din touchscreen unit that has navigation, backupcam and all that goodness in one screen? just looks sleeker.

i dunno much about electronics, but with as old as our cars are, it probably shouldn't be a rare to find a non-navi TL in the junk yard do an even swap??

yea, i also think it would be a much cleaner look. Plus these double din screens are bigger then the stock navi and have better picture quality. This area has nothing at the yards, time to expand my search a little
