so is it ballast or igniter? bulbs are 5k kaixen less than 3 months old and last nite pass side was off. flicked lights off then back on and it turned back on. switched igniters and left them like that and drove with lights on in day time to recreate the problem but neither side pass or driver went off' but i do notice that my pass side bulb is brighter and driver side is dimmer when turning them on from a cold start. could it just be a bad igniter or bad ballast?

 

Mine look like this also from inside the car and the angle from the driver seat looking at the passenger light. Outside of the car looking at both directly, they both look bright as hell. I just replaced my driver side ballast, and I thought I had the same problem..

if you swap the bulbs left to right and prob follows- its bulb

note new bulbs need 50 hours run time to get color stable and brightness at full
Drive with them on all the time

 

im hoping its not the ballast i haven't learned how to remove the bumper and headlight assembly yet!

i doubt its the bulbs because they are still fairly new and i did drive with them on for a while when i first got them. i say just a little over 100 hours by now. i do about 1.5 hour commute at night so they are or should def be broken in by now

im just waiting for one of the lights to go out again, after switching the igniters. im hoping the driver side goes out this time lol so i know its the igniter for sure
