Navi conversion...FINALLY!!!

First off, I like to take a few moments to thank all the people that made this possible. First I would like to thank Juker008 who was able to get more Pioneer RGB for us unfortunate ones who either waited too long to get it or got their cars after they had already discountinued the RGB. It was cool he was legit too instead of running off with our hard well earned cash. I like to thank TypeSDragoon. Without his help putting everything together, I definitely would not have a navi conversion to speak of today. After 3 or so hours, we were complete with the navi conversion. Thank you all! Now for the best part...pics

Here is a pic of the relay...a new modification to TypeSdragoon's installation method...

The Inspire Fog Light switch allows me to switch in between my navi and over to whatever else I plug into the video plug. Keeps the overall stock look

numbaonexstunna: Pioneer RGB1 (discontinued) - $291.51 from paypal (cost of it is actually only $275, but with shipping and everything else...), BlitzSafe Audio Convertor from Streeteffectz - $75 shipped, wires and a relay from Radio Shack - $25, Inspire Fog Light Switch - $35, 4amp fuses - $1.49, Installation from friend (TypeSdragoon) - dinner = $428.00 roughly. How long does it take? A few hours to modify the RGB and then a few hours to install. Look on people's faces as your watching porn in your car...priceless . For everything else, their's Alpine.

vandy786: Thank you

I am very suprise that one of the after market car video companies doesn't make a quick kit that plugs inline to the dvd data lines that offers external video imputs.
Does anyone know if I am mistaken?

There is one company that does, it's a complete revamp of software and everything...looks really cool, but it's like $1000 to $2000 for the conversion. Acura is the only one whose navi doesn't have a straight plug in device. Mercedes and BMW I believe u can buy this adapter and it plugs right in. For some reason Acura did theirs differently.

SilverBullet: Juker008 on the CL board. On the RGB there is only one video rca, so just one source at a time. But you can get a home switcher that will let u plug multiple sources into it if you want.

AcuraTLFan: Yes touch screen feature does work, but NOT usuable for DVD menu selections. That would require software revamp. But as far as accessing your stock controls such as A/C and Screen shutdown, you just have to memorize the location of those on the screen and press it.

I live in Dallas, TX if you don't want to pay shipping.

Oh, the unit has one composite in, one composite out, and one RGB out.

Doesn't streeteffectz offer a plug-n-play kit for $575? Seems that for roughly $100 more it's best to save wire cutting and splicing and such.
