Long post, sorry! The wifey and I were car tripping to MN. We used the NAVI just for grins. Two hours into the trip, the damn screen split and starts showing the left side of the screen in the middle as well!! You can't make out a thing! We stop for fuel, fries and fluids and shut the car down. When we re-start, it's okay...for about 2 hours, then it does it again!! ANYONE ELSE HAVE THIS PROBLEM?!! We get to the mosquito state and I just shut the damn thing off!

Sounds like you got a defective unit... get it replaced!

 

I fixed it.

Same thing happened to me. When i first got the car, i noticed the navi screen losing vertical or horizontal hold occasionally but i could never get one of the service guys to witness it. He said he could try to fix it but he'd have to remove the entire dashboard!! I DON'T THINK SO! So i just took it home. It worked fine for a day and then started back up again -- glitching every 5 minutes or so.

Okay.. how i fixed it: Pop up the trunk and reach back behind the navi console. You'll feel two sets of wires, one big 2" plug and one 1/4" plug. Push them in towards the console (towards yourself). You may hear a click or you may not. If you heard a click that means it was not seated properly.

The navi screen glitched again after a few days tho. But i just went ahead and did the same thing. No click sound that time but it did the trick, nevertheless.

Even though Minnesota is God's country (I used to live in Minneapolis), it is a screwed up state. I think it has something to do with the State you're in.

Sorry to hear that, my navi works fine. I would call the dealer and request a new navi unit.
