I couldn't find anything through search, so I am asking the question.

I played around with the location accuracy, trying to improve the accuracy manually. Well, I screwed it up more than I fixed, and now it's always off.

Is there a way to reset to default factory setting? I know on the new 3rd gen TL there's a way to access the administrative "page", is there a similar function on the 2nd gen TL navi?

yes,

hold down menu, map/guide and cancel for a few seconds and you get to that menu.
