Mystery Solved !!!

Okay, I have the full scoop regarding my engine misfire last Friday when the CEL and TSC lights were on.

Here are the codes that come up: P0300, P0301, P0302, P0303, P0304, P0305, P0306 all came up.

Recommend:
1) Replacing all 6 Ignition coils
2) Replace all the Spark Plugs
3) Perform Oil change
4) Perform Throttle body and Motovac service.

The car is fine now except that the damage to the CAT is unknown at this moment

OK what you really have is 1, maybe 2 bad coils-

Follow the instuctions we have given many times-
try the new coil on the 1st cyl- reset ECU- start engine- repeat moving the new coil to each cylinder and reset ECU each time until you find the bad coil(s)
It would be very strange to need all 6
and very common to need 1

The new plugs are suggested because with a bad coil there will be buildup on the plug.
Replacing the one plug in the bad coils place is a good idea,
And all new plugs if over 60k Miles anyway- go ahead and replace with the stock NGK Iridium - use nothing else

The induction cleaning- motovac whatever- See Seafoam DIY for doing it way better for 20 bucks

Codes are CLUES not Diagnosis-- and never to be taken at face value!!!!!!!!!!!!
The computer knows something is wrong in the ignition and will throw multiple cylinder misfire codes even if its just one- its not very smart in that way

If you have 6 bad coils, it wouldnt run... let alone run fine!

You can replace $360 worth of coils and $50 of spark plugs (+labor of 1.5-20 hours extra)
if you want to- it might/should fix the problem by throwing all new parts at it,,
OR
spend $50 and find out with 1 coil what the real problem is

Induction-TB plate, gasoline-manifold cleaning is a good idea for any car with more than 30-50k miles, the lower if buying off brand cheap gas
You would not believe what builds up as normal combustion byproduct- made even worse by the added 10% Ethanol now in the gas

get A COIL and go to it yourself

oh- the oil change is probably because with bad combustion:

gasoline molecules -get past the rings- some fuel/oil ring bypass is normal in any engine, but worse in this example
gas gets into the oil and contaminates it,,makes it lose its abilty to transfer heat and lubricate parts ,,if thats happened- fix the coil and plug and change the oil ASAP
Stop driving around with CEL and codes!!

The cat will be fine. Catalytic Converters are made of PGE (platinium group elements). They are used because they are catalyist and don't degrade over time. They continue to do their job. The only problem is build up of hydrocarbon material on the "honey cone" material that blocks or covers up the PGE material. A small missfire issue will probably yeild little to no longer term damage to the CAT.
