Well last night I was about to drive my friend home from my house, and when I got in my car I felt a spider web touch my ear... (I'm an arachniphobe) I freaked out and jumped out of my car. When I looked, there was a fat spider web between the front seats. Apparently some nasty looking orb spider got into my car from the garage door motor and in through the sunroof. I took a vacuum cleaner and sucked it out, then I stepped on it. You can see the spider chillin' on the sunroof in the second picture.

I wanna keep a window open cuz it gets stuffy in the car, but I'm afraid this is gonna happen again :/ Is there like a good air freshener or something you guys use?

ventshade- a small solar powered fan that sits in a plastic channel attached top of rear window- remove for driving or wind noise sucks, but when parked it runs a cabin exhaust fan as long as the sun is out!

 

there are some scents that spiders dont like too- look up on the net under natural pest control- if its something you can stand- use a small amount on a paper towel in a plastic bag- the heat warms and releases the scent

For others without bug prob but like a nice smelling car- ask a lady about sachet or potpourri bag for you. Make whatever scent you like, dirty socks, alpine breeze...
I use coconut smell, so I always feel like its Hawaii

 

hey get a few insecticide bomb thingys and light em up in ur garage.. will get rid of any other spiders that may live there..

I'll definitely look into some kind of spider repellent, if I drove without realizing that spider was there, I would've crashed, no joke. wut about those car scent things that you open and leave in the little tray of the center console?


I actually parked the car around 4pm, went to the beach in my friend's car, came back home, and got to my car around 9pm, so about 5 hours. But I heard somewhere that spiders make orb webs in around 2 hours. I fucked it up in 30 seconds

I'd rather have a snake in the car any day.

anyways i kinda have the same issue. previous owners of the car left a funky smell in it. i bought one of those glade car fresheners that clip onto the AC vent, but the problem is that it decreases the air flow from that vent.

so...yea if anyone knows of a good air freshener solution, let me know

 

well, the good news is now you can drive thru country roads with the windows down. bugs dont stand a chance haha

just get like a cheesecloth or something, and drape it over an open sunroof. maybe poke some holes in it with a needle, should be enuff for circulation without letting Peter Parker in

 

Just sell the car its not worth it anymore....

Damn.... i feel your pain, i had the same happen to me a couple times.

i was drving 80mph and one decided to try and sit on my shoulder - shoulda seen me swearving... another ran across my dash and in between my winshield. smacked him down and tryed to get him while driving again.. these things are going to be the death of me..

not as bad as an entire web but that woulda freaked me out big time.

 

holly sheeeeit.. I agree with the post above about bombing your garage.. I think I will do the same. I dont know what I would do if I saw something like that in my car

But I hear ya, OP. I would have freaked out if I got into my car and felt part of a spider's web on my neck / ear / back of head.

lol i think thats the only way you can kill 99% of them . And dont worry , smoke them first and let them die, lol and then take ur car to dealer and let them refresh ur car i think for about 50 to 100 bucks and man it gone smell like a hot girl coming out from a shower lol yeahhhhh

 

That is a nice smell.

However I would think if you left it parked in the sun it would fry them to death anyway.
