Looks nice , I have been looking at rims and everything I read says chrome is heavy and slows the car etc. I don't know if this is just freaks that are losing .1 second or what, so if you don't mind...could you post any difference you feel in take off speed and any changes to your gas mileage? Thanks!

Alexx,
The transformation looks great. What size tires are you running? How's the ride?

225/40/18 are the tires (Yokohama AVS ES100). The ride feels like stock but I'm not used to being so close to the ground even though it's 1.75 inch drop or so. The handling is much better, there is no roll whatsoever.

As far as chrome being heavy, I didn't hear anything about it, if I wanted speed I would've bought lighter rims. The wheels themselves are heavier than the stock by maybe 5-7lb (estimate)

It looks photoshopped because the focus in that pic is crappy, check out the rest of the pics in the album

Thanks.

Sorry fellas, leaving the Type-S rims for the winter. I just washed them. On the inside there is all this crap that came off easily (brake dust and rust from pads), but there was this crap that wasn't coming off too good (they looked like a bunch of spots (about 1-2 inches apart from each other), I tried using WD-40 but after doing one wheel realized that I'll need about 2 more cans to do the rest of the wheels.

You're right, chrome is a little on the heavy side when your talking racing and ounces. NASCAR teams stopped using chromed rims about 20-25 years ago because it added about 1 pound per wheel. And that just adds up to additional unsprung weight.
