My Tranny Update

So..like I posted before...I brought my 02 TL-S with 20k in on Sat. because I knew it was time for a new tranny. They didnt get to look at it till yesterday (monday). Called me today and said they will have the tranny on Thurs and it will be done by Thurs evening. So it looks like the tranny supply has increased. only 5 days in the shop and a brand new tranny and a free mobil 1 oil change. Not a bad deal given the circumstances. Just to let everyone who might be fearing the reality of a blown tranny know what the time frame is.

tranny

Yo, I am a little unfamiliar here. What happened with the tranny in the first place? I have a 2002 TL-S with 21k on it, and I am experiencing some lack in performance. I am wondering if I should be worried about my tranny too.

Do a search on the forum for 'tranny' and you should be able to find all you need to know.

Moderators: I'd like to suggest again that all tranny issues be separated out into a separate forum so people can investigate all of the issues. With new members, this info is being lost and it is a disservice to them to not have this out front where all past experiences can be viewed.

Thanks

on the other hand, by having a forum solely for the transmission problems might indicate to people that the issue is more widespread than it actually is.....

I don't think that's true at all. I think we are up to about 40 people now (where's jon when you need him) who have TL tranny replacements. That's a lot of experiences to share.

They did this in the CL forum (they have over 40 replacements reported there) and it helps people who are dealing with that issue share...and keeps them out of the main forum where people wihout tranny problems get tired of reading about it.

The conversations were invaluable to me when I was waiting 3 weeks for mine to be replaced and found out what others were experiencing when talking to Acura Cutomer Care and their dealers, and how they were negotiating deals on extended warranties, etc.

Just a thought...
