My Tranny is GOIN!!!
On wednesday this week i was driving up north to somerville on my way there i was noticing my tranny slipping at almost every stop light shifting from 3rd to 4th. Is this a sign of my tranny about to go? What should i do? And i was also informed by Acura NSX Pilot that the trannies for TL's are on backorder.....Great!!!

take it to the dealer, maybe it just needs an oil change, you never know
and recently people are getting their trannies fixed really fast, so the parts may not be on backorder anymore, so if your tranny is really going, it shouldn't be taking long
good luck

backorder is when a company is out of stock of something, and the order is placed on hold until the parts arrive

My tranny has started the downward spiral too. My second to third shift gets worse with every subsequent day. She goes in tomorrow to get evaluated, then they order the tranny and one day to install.
My friend who is a master tech at my dealership said Acura actually bought a transmission re-build company to handle all of this mess because there was no way they could keep up with the demand. What a pain in the butt.
One more year of payments for me and then I'm either picking up a 1 year old 6-speed CL or a different car if anything is out there in a reasonable preice range with excellent performance. After this, though, I think I am going to find it hard to part with a significant amount of money for a car ever again. The depreciation figures for the CL are staggering (and yes, I expected a large depreciation but now that my car is worth an even 10k less than when I bought it exactly two years ago I'm pretty pissed. Even the gen 1 CLs held their value a lot better than that.

My transmission failed last week, at first I noticed it slipping during gear changes with a complete failure coming a few days after. Dealer told me that the transmissions are on back order and that it would be about a month before I got my car back.
