My short ram vs Cold air experience
Today i switched from Cold air to short ram on my injen 2 piece intake. I went out and did three runs from 0-60 on a relatively flat road with the cold air and with the short ram. With the cold air i did 6.54, 6.78, 6.61. With the short ram i did 7.49, 8.13, 7.79. All from the same launchin point. I noticed that i was able to hit 80 by a certain sign on the same road from the launching point with the cold air and was able to only get about 65 with the short ram. Also the power felt so "dead" i couldnt take it. The car felt so choked and torque was sh itty as well. From the butt dyno i could feel the difference. The short ram is just like having a stock intake box with maybe a few more horses for up high and having a nicer sound, but off the line it felt like crap and these were all cold start runs with the short ram. Once the engine warmed up, the car felt even more slugish. It sucked because the car would scream, but not move. Then when i switched back, i went back and did some more runs and my cold air did 0-60 in 6.81, 6.48, 6.70. And i felt the power immediately. I also cut a larger hole into the plastic on the bottom and the intake is a little louder and the car "feels" faster(doubt it is). Just letting you guys know from my experience.
Also for your info the road nets me similar numbers in both directions, thats how i know its relatively flat.

what device did you used to time your car?
...and, do you think AEM's CAI is as good ?

I used a stop watch. Not 100% accurate, but that is why i do three runs to get a general average. And i hit the button as soon as i mash the gas. And then hit it as i hit 60.

i though the differences were too much too, but the i tested the cold air, 20 minutes later i tested the short ram tehn 20 minutes after that i did the cold air again

How difficult is it to switch between CAI and SRI for the injen two piece intake? Is there a bypass valve on the injen two piece?
btw, sorry if my questions are kinda ignorant

i can switch to cai with my sri intake too. i might try it if the gains are that great..
but the bracket holding the intake to the car broke so if i add the cai part it will prolly be too heavy and won't hold correctly.. anyway i'll try it and we'll see![Wink](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)
