Post my poor milage...

I have never gotten over 20 mpg before.. I only have about 3500 miles on my car. Does the milage get better or should I drive like a grandma? I drive about 5-7 miles daily (35% city 65% highway)....

It'll get better as the engine breaks in. I drive full-throttle often, and at least once a day all the way to redline and I average slightly over 20 in the city.

My mileage seemed to get better somewhere around the first oil change; perhaps it has something to do with the 'break-in additives' that are in the factory fill of oil???

5 to 7 miles daily. Hell, the car must be barely warming up. There is no opportunity for highway mileage in that short distance. Highway assumes that you will be warm engine and at speed for considerable distance, not just a couple of miles. Doubt that you will see much better than low 20s

I just got filled up - 191.2 miles on 12.661 gallons = 15.17 mpg. WTF is that?? Never gotten over 19, but 15 is an all time low! First oil change is due within the next 2-3 weeks.

Your mileage will never increase as long as you only drive 5-7 miles daily. Even if you drive on the highway, your car uses a lot of gas until it warms up. Consider yourself 100% city driving.

all right.. I think I will wait and see until I take a road trip or something to Vancouver. Yeah 10 miles a day is barely warming up for the engine... no wonder my milage sucks.

doing only my commute, 12 miles each way, my car gets around 15-17mpg. roadtrip (ie San Jose to Berkeley (50 miles each way) It improves to 22-24, 25+ if I don't fly down the fast lane.

Not all cars are built the same, so I've learned.

I've gotten 14.5-14.7 mpg maybe a half dozen times, I usually get about 17-18 though. If I break 20, I've definitely taken a long distance trip somewhere. The best I've ever gotten is about 22.5 mpg

I know there are some out there that never get below 20. Life is unfair.

I'm probably 20 miles shy before the low fuel light turns on..here you see, after a fillup, how many miles I have on my trip odo from a full fill-up..This is combined highway and city driving.

I guess I must drive "conservative". I've gotten as high as 31 mpg on the hiway. I use to get 19-20 mpg for in town. Since I put on the better tires (much better GRIP)the best I get on the hiway trips is 27 mpg & the city driving has dropped to about 17-18 mpg. You can always tell when u "Get on it", the mpg goes Doowwnnnn!
