They look very very very sweet... is this safe with our OEM ballast? Does the road seem brighter with this change?

cheap compared to the philips bulbs lol The visiblity is probably a little less than stock but still better than halogen.

to tell you the truth, they dont light up the road as much as my stock. i mean they still do a good job at illuminating ahead. its a direct swap had them 2 months no probs. next project the fog lights

umm you mean the volcano brand or whatever the hidking guy sells on ebay? If you check out some of the HID forum, they have bad ratings. People had those D2R bulbs burn out within a year. That's what prevented me from buying them. I'm def. buying Philips or Osram when my stock bulbs goes.

no... i didnt buy mine from hidking... the name of the seller was black02a4 or something like that. either way, i have compared my bulbs to other 6000k and they look the same. so far they have been running good... if they burn out within a year... then oh well, lesson learned. but so far so good... and i ALWAYS have my headlights on... day and night.

And also the higher the K, the lesser the lumens output.

I know, I agree. The optimum is the stock rating of 4300K.

yeah, the color looks cool, but as far as being light on the road, it reminds me of those PIAA plasma superwhites with the purple tinge to them..was the picture taken during the warm up period? Also, it wouldn't be possible for you to put one stock bulb in one and the new one in the other, could you?

did you have to modify the D2S to fit your headlight housing?

I know you have to make a hole/slot to make Philips Ultinon D2S fit in our car but i heard there are some bulbs that have D2S and D2R slots, both.

me too....i think it's a mix maybe

i want to go to 6000 too, but don't want to sacrifice brightness..

BTW, sometimes i see people with really blue lights like maybe 8000.....and they have them on as bright as SHIT....i sometimes wonder why ours isn't that bright @ 8000?....is it a ballast thing?

I have a question....just the other day i was driving next to one of those new volvo S40R's..and the HID on the other guys car ( while next to mine) was ABSURDLY bright white. You could see the difference between halogens and mine (2000 TL), but his were so much brighter! The ground was pure white....what kelvin is that? It looked like a stock setup...and as far as I know the only way you go on the brightness scale is down as the kelvins go up...how did he get his xenons to be so white?

In order for the D2S to fit, you have to modify it a little.

BTW, I haven't heard of the new bulbs with both slots.
