Unhappy My headlights stolen last night

Hello all, I am very very sad. Last night some one stole both of my headlights with the everything. I called the dealer and they said $1100 a piece. I dont have even close to that to spend. Can someone help me out and find a place or know someone who has a 99 TL used head lights? Thanks for you time.

Isn't that what we pay the insurance company for??? At 1100 a piece, I would defintely report that to your carrier regardless of the deductable.

Sorry to hear about your loss though.

Check ebay. The a-holes that stole them might be selling them there. You could get your same headlights back ---- cheap!

That is funny but he might be right... Keep on checking eBay... Win the headlights and then find out where he lives and beat the **** out of him.... He might not put them on right away but keep your eyes open...

I parked in Queens, NY. I will definately check on eBay...I've been checking for days. Right now, I will just buy the head light casing and connect regular bulbs. I tested this last night and it seems to work. Any down sides besides that they new bulbs wont be HIDs?

Think about it, the 2500 bucs it will cost to get new headlights and have them installed would have been more than 1 year of insurance on your vehicle. Not to mention any other damage to hood, fenders and bumper.

I parked in Richmond Hill, Queens. I'm thinking of connecting regular low beams without the HIDs and its setup. Any ideas on this? By the way, what's the bulb number for the low beam?

VijayTL, there is no point in connecting halogen lowbeams if you want to avoid theft, since the thieves won't know and still take your lights.

They are stealing HIDs from all cars like crazy. There's an article about it today. Here.

kind of unrelated, but someone told me they saw an HID kit for audi a4's, for only $400 (roughly) - can that be right? if so, why are TL lights so expensive? supposedly you could just plug the HID into A4s, but I thought you would need a ballast for sure...

Man, times have sure changed. What happened to the days when you could get replacement headlights for about $20? Is it really worth it to have HIDs? I wish my TL-S just had regular headlights. $2000 for a couple of headlights? Something is very wrong with this.

well i dont know about you but i prefer the hid's at night over standard halogen's the difference is night and day! his best bet maybe checking e-bay and salvage yards.

The HID kits cost all the same. 2 ballasts and 2 bulbs. The $2000 price is for repairs of the bumper, hood and fenders (among other little stuff....grill, etc.).

I've checked eBay, junk yards etc, they just dont carry HIDs. These lights are so easy to get off and who knows if they wont come by and steal it again. I'm low on cash and I think I'm going to go the cheap way, although I have already purchased the genuine headlight casing from the dealer I dont think I will go with HIDs anymore.

It was probably some 3.2 TL-P owner who wanted 17" instead of his stock 16" rims and didnt feel like forking over the loot for em. I am getting my Viper alarm system installed for $790 this Monday, and my rims on Tuesday. My Advan Model 5's have finally arrived but I had to buy ContiSportContact tires because the 225/40/18 Yokohama dBs 2's wouldnt work. It took me 6 weeks for my wheels to arrive and im not taking any chances for them to get stolen. Oh also I was setting an appointment for my car to get the H&R sport springs installed and the dealership wanted to charge me $580, so I called up Evolution Autosports and they said $230. Pohanka Acura in Virginia SUCKS!

HOLY CRAP!!! Sorry it happened to you FidizzyTypeS. I'm glad I have wheel locks on my car. I also got the anti theft for my headlights as well. I read on this forum that going to the malls it's a good idea to park with your lights facing out, that way it doesn't give a thief a place to hide. I've been doing that for a while now.
Damn, no cinder blocks to hold the car up either. I remember when thiefs would at least give you the respect and put the car on blocks. I guess not anymore!

Yeah this xenon theft is a big deal it was on the news last night and they said the two hardest hit cars are the Nissan Maximas and Acura TL's, they said the best way to prevent theft is to park as close as you can to walls or your garage doors to make it hard for *******s to get at the lights. What!! this a cute suggestion but what happens when you have to park on the street, then fu*king what. Everytime I see a civic or golf with HID I wonder if that came from an Acura. I told my brother dont take his **** to places you know are trouble and park in places you know are busy and people will be able to see your car if anyone suspicious is hanging around it.

I have an HID kit on my car and its legit from a company, I dont support the sale of stolen HID's because I know I would feel like **** if someone stole mine.

Im not sure exactly cause the guy gave me a quote over the phone and faxed me a copy. Its the Viper 750??? those question marks are because I cant remember the numbers but the guy said it was the best, remote start, pager w/lcd screen sounds a lot like your python. One question though, did you have the alarm when they took your tires and HIDs?

Also if you did, did you have the back up alarm?
