My 03tlp randomly wont go from Park to Drive when I start it. This has happened a couple of times, but I can shift when I hit the release Also, when this happens I have noticed that my radio won't turn on. I was just wondering if it this has happened to anyone and if anyone can add their on why

Do a search on shift interlock

 

may be the brake light switch under the pedal- easy fix- should be in the DIY
check ALL the brake lights including the ones in th eback window

or the shift interlock safety switch itself may be bad as said above

 

Sounds like it could also be your ignition switch because you said your radio won't turn on either. The ignition switch would trigger the shift interlock to release the shifter so if that's failing, it could very well be interfering with your radio too.

 

my tl had the same problem except the radio.. and it was the brake switch. however i agree its prolly the ignition issue.
