My car got vandalized

…They took both front airbags and all four wheels, first smashed drivers side window of course. Yes, I was keeping the tool for wheel locking nuts in the trunk, just in case if I have a flat tire so that I can replace it. I didn’t even think about carrying it with me. They also cut battery cables in order to stop the alarm. I live in apartment building and park my car in the underground garage. Apparently they came through emergency fire exit, which is not protected by the camera. To make things more interesting I am going to move out (I bought a house) by the end of August and it happened just now when I almost moved out. Oh well.
Guys, what do you think, because I am going to be really scared, is it safer for me to park outside for the next two months until I move out? Where do you keep your tool for wheel locking nuts? Is one locking nut per wheel enough? Is there anything I can use to put on the steering wheel in order to protect at least drivers side air bag? I did have a bar (The Club) on my steering wheel and apparently it didn’t help at all, they still managed to take the air bag.
The feeling was the worst that I have ever had in my life, I just do not know how am I going to sleep until I move out of the fVcking building!

sorry to hear about your loss. u can get a better alarm...what i do for the wheel lock key i usually take it out of the car whenever i leave. it might be a hassle takin out that thing but hey it protects them from stealing your wheels. i use 2 diff wheel locks for my rims. so it takes them longer for them to take the wheels off of my car. as for the rest not sure on how to help you. good luck though

Sorry to hear about your misfortune, but i recomend getting a slef powered alarm with an ear piercing siren inside the car, that would make anyone leave quickly. Also with the alarm, get the screen remote that tells you if the car is being broken into, whcih sensor went off and if it was an accidental tap. or a full break in.

Unhappy For the airbags...

That sucks, man. And here I was ranting about valve caps getting swiped.

Anyway, its a pain, but with the club, you can jimmy the club around the steering wheel to point where it is almost making the horn go off. This way its covering the airbag completely and if someone messes with it the horn will be going off, as well.

Its hard to describe, but basically, the harder it is for you to get the club on and lock it the harder it will be for them to steal your airbag.

I am also thinking how to protect the garage in a house (once I move in of course). Because I do not feel safe enough any more, what would be a good protection for the garage? What do you guys have?
Once gain, is it safer in your opinion to park outside? I am simply coming to that conclusion because anybody can enter the garage (cameras are big BS) and do all kinds of things while being hidden there, while outside, it is more or less open space and there is always somebody. I do not know, I just feel awful.

as you know early warning is the best so in the case of the garage and the car i recommmend a proximity sensor aka microwave sensor ...as for a car alarm like bigman suggested a two way alarm like the compustar swss which has a one mile range coupled with a backup battery.

there is actually a mod you can do that will stop them from continuing......cus you can relocate the hood cable by just unhooking the cable and moving it to some other place....that way your alarm will go off and there is no way they can cut the wire....and no theif likes to jack a car that is calling for attention.....you keep them out of your hood you protect whats underthe hood and scared them to stop them from continuing to jack whats in your car...ie subs...rims......system....etc.....they tried with my friend accord...and only ended up damaging the door but took nothing......cus they couldnt turn off the alarm

That really sucks. If it makes you feel any better, they stole the headlights out of my 03 TL and it costs over $5600 to paint and replace the damage.
