My car was attacked yesterday....

by frickin' birds! I have been parking in the same spot at work for the past 2-3 months to avoid all other cars and have only been shat upon by birds maybe once. Well yesterday they came in full force! I have about 7-9 crap stains on the car (2-3 on the hood, 2 on the trunk, 1 on the roof, 2 on the winshield and 1 on the rear glass)! This all comes 2 days after I spent 2-3 hours Zainoing the car (used z-1 and z-2). Given that the car had collected some dust already but I was pissed when I saw all the bird do-do! Used the Zaino spray and blotted it off but when I wiped it off I saw some faint swirl marks that weren't there before! Oh well, I guess I know what I am doing this weekend (Washing and polishing again!)

On a side note, I am going to the track on Friday with the Northeast Audi Club so I expect to be spanked by some stock and maybe some modded S4s and A6 2.7Ts! I may get spanked by some A4s as well but I'll let you guys know. Wish me luck (First time)! I'll be happy with a 15.2 considering I am bone stock, might be in the mid 80s and I won't be taking stuff out the trunk (not to mention I could lose some weight! ).

I swear birds plan it Just think, at least your sun roof wasn't open ( I hope, hehe ).

Let us know how the track goes. I've never been to one myself, where abouts is this located?

I am convinced that birds do that on purpose and let me tell you why. There is this power line here at work that runs over the parking lot and if you park under it even for 10 minutes your car will get hit with bird crap. However, if dont park there and check the pavement you will find no trace of bird crap!

There is one in somewhere in NH and I believe its called the NE Dragstrip or something. I will see if I can find the 411.

My sunroof wasn't open (Thank God)! They were defintely aiming for my car because there was plenty of missed shots in the perimeter!

Ha! LOL! We did that to a bunch of gulls on the beach, fed them alka seltzer. They don't actually blow up though; they just crashed to to the sand and ran around, tried to fly. Come to think of it...that was pretty cruel.

Day two of operation Bomb Fred's TLS!

Fockers got me again today eventhough I parked in a different spot!!! Seven new hits! I may have to take that Alka Seltzer approach! fortunately today's hits were on the windshield and rear window only so I'm leaving them on and just washing the car tomorrow!

Fockin' Birds!

Ugh. That would piss me off too. The level of time and effort that goes into washing, claying, and Zaino-ing is a lot to turn around and get the multiple shiats on your car. That's always the way it seems.

Or bring one of those big squirt guns and chase 'em off!
Or maybe you put the breadcrumbs near the other cars in the lot.

Bird actually do crap on shinier cars more than dirty/dull paint jobs. Reason is that naturally birds try to crap over the water. Its instinctive and when they see the glare/sun shining off the ocean they crap. Well, when ur car is shiny, the birds see the shine of the sun off ur car and think that they're over the ocean so "bombs away" Why do you think that you don't see so many bird craps on the ground.

i have a suggestion that works......in the marina we have plastic owls on our boats and it keeps the birds away because they are prey for them.

Problem solved! We should all just mount plastic owls on top of our cars, even when driving we will be fully protected from random acts of bird crap attack.

crow attack on sunroof seal

My TL-S was picked apart by a flock of crows the other day. Tore the hell out of the sunroof seal and was told the entire glass/seal needs replacing.
Anyone else had this happen to them?

what ever you do don't flock with the crow or all his buddies will be on ya. Their actually a smart bird & like to work in groups. you mess with one you mess with em all.. here in the n.w thier always attacking hawks & eagles in the air for being too close to the nesting ground. they attack in groups.

This is very true. Few years back, I had parked my black two door, 96 Accord in a restaurant parking lot fully packed with other cars. No power line in sight. The night before I had just detailed my car. When my friend and I came out of the restaurant my jaw just dropped to the ground as my car had bird crap all over the hood, the roof, the back trunk, and side windows. It wasn't just one drop here and there, my car was literally pelted all over. The strange thing was, I looked around at the cars next to me, to my right and to my left. They had no droppings of anykind on them!!! and they were the same cars that were parked there before I parked between them. And NO, my car was not pelted before we came to the restaurant . I guess there is no true way of avoiding anything. Just like when you first buy your new car and you park miles away from everyone else to avoid dings and scractches, you come back later and find a big beat up pickup or a crusty station wagon parked right next to you..... go figure.
