is my ballast dead?
i just wanted to make sure. last night when i turned on my headlights, i heard a buzzing sound, and all i saw was my headlights flickering. i hear it from the igniter, so does that mean it's just my igniter or is it my ballast?
The bulb was flickering ? and it suddenly off or its still working now ? If it not working now then watch out for the water coming down the ballast. I used to had same problem like this and replaced 3 times for the dam ballasts. Try to seal it up one more time and kina ducktape all over the ballasts so the water wont damage it. Good luck and hope it helps.
same situation as me.
check bulb method. (switch bulbs.. left to right. right to left..)
if broken side still doesn't work. ballast is probably fried. i ordered mine from that website...
acuraoemparts.com or something like that and ordered the ballast + igniter.

thanks guys. will try it out later today. fortunately, my hid fogs are wired up to my daytime running lights, so i can run them without the headlights going.
The answer is yes. Flicker is generally caused by a failure within the ballast of the buck filter... When you get your new one, get some clear silicon caulk from home depot, and seal the connections. I lost my ballasts to water. You also tend to get failure quicker if you live in a humid area, like next to the ocean.

reach to the ballastes, take them out( not off completely) and tape them over using the black tape. The reason to do this is becuase to make it water resistance and yeah for some ppl that might have leaking issue. this would help alot.
Ima go tape my on the other side too, let see this week we got storm coming in so yeah , layin on the bed till the next weekkk yayyyyyy
lol
