Smile My 2002 TL TYPE S has 303 000 KM

Hi Guys!

My last login was in 2006. I am the original owner of a 2002 TL Type S. Car now has 303000 K. Engin has NEVER been touched. Dealer maintained. New tranny at 180 000 KM. Planning to reach 400 000KM before trading.... I am so pleased with the quality of this great automobile.

Would I get the same from a new TL? That's the 60 million dollar question...?

Awesome man, got 277k on my 03, 3rd tranny. Car is awsome never had any issues with the engine, I've never even seen the CEL go off expect for when my tranny died. Although with that much mileage I've been recently plagued with suspension issues shocks, springs, control arms, ball joints. Just spent 4k on a paint job, planning to keep it till 400k as well.

I'm done with Honda/Acura. My 03 TLP has only 117KM and had numerous problems with it. Original tranny still but had to replace the engine at 80KM due to hole in one my pistons. Honda would do nothing for me as I was out of warranty. Also had my heat blower motor fail and now my wiper fluid will not spray.

All that stuff is little if you search there is a fix for all of the above. I have fixed my blower motor problem (Blower motor harness + Blower motor resistor) and wiper fluid problem(Washer pump or washer nozzle). 1 tip make friends with someone who is good with cars! My friend wants to help me change the piston rings since they might be bad cause my tail is smoking and if i was to have a hole in mine we would change that piston out 2.

ck compression dry and with a squirt of oil in cylinder to see if its rings

easier to throw a used motor in than rebuild one with a hole in a piston!
what did you do to that poor car!! its not an off road racer~

300kMeters is nothing,=,200kmiles,,you should be on 2nd time changing timing belt and water pump
make sure it gets the egr port and passge cleaning of the intake manifold with next valve adjustment,,not found in schedule but very important

x2, although im reaching 200k i still feels like my motor has 50k on it, and yes I've replaced numerous parts in the life of the car that includes trannys, blower motors, ac compressor, motors mounts, IACV valve, speed sensors, ball joints, tables, tie rods, re did the whole suspension. That's just wear and tear i consider most vehicles on the road are in a whole lot worse shape than our cars. I consider our vehicles to be pretty reliable tranny aside, keep filling up with 91 octane and Synthetic oil and your motor will be happy! Also noticed a HUGE difference when I got around to cleaning the throttle body, at the same time added some seafoam to the gas tank and wow it was a night and day difference!
