i mean, if you are just so in love with it, ya, online - ebay maybe, or the dealer. But, you maybe want to "upgrade" to a better HU with MP3 functions etc. you could put all 6 discs from your current changer on 1 and never the difference.

well, it will be similar to those at best buy, go to crutchfield.com, they'll tell you every brand they sell of what will fit in the acura. depends how much you want to spend, if your gonna put a system in soon, get a good deck, if not, a basic $150 - 200 will do.

You wont loose the stock sub with a new HU. I recently got rid of my bose deck and still have my stock sub working.

You will probably get an aftermarket HU for alot less than what the bose would cost, and it will sound better!

The headunit will be feeding the sound through the speakers, so I'm not sure how a new headunit will improve the sound any.

But Best Buy is partially right. Bose systems are finicky and people have had mixed results. Some say they just replace the headunit and everything is fine, and some have replaced it to have the speakers cease to function, play too low, or have irreversible distortion. Your best bet, for the sake of the way the interior looks as well as for functionality, is try to find a working (used) Bose headunit.

Right, the headunit is Pioneer and costs $830 from the dealer. But it is integrated with the Bose system. I'm not an audiophile and really have no idea if a new headunit will work fine or not, but I have heard that getting aftermarket equipment to function with Bose standard equipment can be a PITA
