More tinting questions - Fading or Discoloring?
#1
![Question](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/icons/icon5.gif)
Anyone have problems with the fading or discoloring of their tints after time? I am trying to decide which tint to use. SolarGard guarantees no fading or purpling for the lifetime of the vehicle. Any other tints offer that kind of warranty? Any opinions about Llumar's polarized film?

Llumar is good. i have their titanium tint. the purpling that youre referring to characterizes the older generation of tints, like almost 10 years ago. nowadays, tint doesnt purple over time, unless you buy really cheap tint. Llumar and 3M are pretty good. i believe Solargard aint too bad either.

All my vehicles are tinted with formula one and I have never had a problem with it fading. (up until recently I lived in Arizona where the tint was bombarded with sun 365 days a year)

In my old Ford, i use to have cheap tint.
It turned purpleish.
Now i have lumar. It's almost 2 years old, no fading. I heard 3M and scotch guard should be okay too, but i have no direct experience w/ those.
Be careful though, I heard some people with Navi got their navi messed up because of the titanium tints. I don't have navi, so I didn't have that problem. You should do some research on that.

I decided to go with the SolarGard dealer for my tint. The other dealers wont give lifetime warranties if I go beyond the legal llimit. The legal limit is MN is 50% I wanted to go 50% on the front 2 and 35% on the rest.
