yea itd have to flip out from somewhere, maybe like slide out of glovebox and angle up, flip down from roof, or, now this might be risky, but you could make like a case for the monitor, to protect it, and have it movable. like loom the wires from the monitor to the carpc so you can hold it in your lap or something but have a mount somewhere (for like pasenger movies or have a little mount on the dash to use it as a nav

heres the deal: right now a 17inch monitor is dirt cheap. i already have a gfx card and motherboard and ram i could use for a carpc. Since half my trunk is going to be subs, a little more for a computer isnt a problem. So money wise the computer to me is cheaper, and has a 17inch vs 6-10inch eepc screen.

haha dont worry so am i. ive been building computer for around 8 years now. im running on a q6600 right now, and have 2 gb ds3r's laying around. probally grab like an e2200 for it, with something small, like an 8600 for graphics. If it worked i see it being pretty tight. the only thing is that i love windows, but it might be nice to go for something more streamlined for faster boot times. i dont want to wait upwards of 30 seconds when i get in the car to start doing whatever

a high end 8 series card or one of those gtx295s in a TL would be badass. i would love to see crysis in a TL.

personally, i don't think computers are needed in a car...maybe for dvds?
if you going to do it go ahead and post some pics
i may change my mind...

i was running dual 8600gts in SLI and it just wouldnt cut it in crysis, so i upgraded to dual 8800 gt's in SLI but now i got a cpu bottleneck so i dont get a big boost in SLI. ill either get an i7 or AM3 platform to clear up the bottleneck.

i'm running a pioneer f900bt, it plays dvd, navigation, and bluetooth. It actually uses WINCE and uses a pioneer GUI. So you can imagine the load time, it does take a while for it to load before you can use its function. Ive done the whole carputer thing over 5 yrs ago, you can buy a touchscreen lcd that controls a computer on ebay for a fairly good price but why do all that when you can just buy a stereo that has all of those options. I can load my stereo into windows and run wifi. Save the trouble and buy one, I got mine on ebay for under 300.
