Money Magazine - Tl Best Luxury Deal

I just received March issue of Money Magazine. Acura 3.2 TL is selected as its Best Luxury Car and TL Type S as Best Luxury Deal.
Here is what it says about the TL:

"The Acura 3.2TL really delivers: For about $27,400 you can get a sporty-looking car with a power sunroof, six-CD changer and memory settings for two drivers in the power bucket seat.

The Acura 3.2TL does a good job combining the power and handling of a BMW 330i and the creamy ride of a Lexus ES 300. It's quieter than some previous Acura sedans; its 3.2-liter V-6 with 225 horsepower gives you plenty of power; and you still get a very respectable 19 mpg in suburban driving, 29 mpg in the highway. On the safety front, the Acura sedan gets four and five stars on government front and side crash tests.

If you really want to get in touch with your sporting side--and are willing to spend a bit more to do it--look at the 3.2TL Type S. Acura's engineers have boosted horsepower to 260 and tightened suspension and steering to cut out roll when you're winding around curves. A good negotiator can get the S for around $29,550, or $1,100 over invoice price."

The Acura 3.2TL does a good job combining the power and handling of a BMW 330i
I'm pretty sure a 330 will outperform and outhandle a TL, as speedwise it compares to a TLS, and should outmanuever that in the twisties also. And the reason I say that is because the IS300 is ALMOST there handlingwise (maybe because they're smaller also) against a 330, and seems much tighter than a TLS. Anyone ?

Well just for the fact that BMW 330 and IS300 already come lower than the TL and stiffer than the TL and they both probably have a better wheight distribution. But a couple of MOD's would make the TL handle and feel like both cars mention above and the the total price including the MOD's would still cost a lot less than the BMW 330.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again, yes, a 330 will outhandle a tls on very fast twisties, big deal, that'l come in handy on the track, but on the ol' xyz parkway it hardly makes a difference, acceleration on the other hand, you feel on entrance ramps, when passing, when taking off from a light, much more usefull in every day driving. The 330 IS much tighter than a tls and is a more balanced spirited ride, but 1) IMO not worth an extra $8K, and 2) if someone really wants a hard core driving and "handling" machine they could get a vette

But Turbo, I'm simply responding to the article that said "The Acura 3.2TL does a good job combining the power and handling of a BMW 330i ", not a Corvette, which in itself is another $10k more than the 330, and $20k over a TLS. And we both know a 330 isn't built for the track, as even my GS is as tight as a TLS, but isn't too confidence-inspiring turning off an exit at say, 40mph. And alot of people here have changed not only their tires, but also stiffened their suspension, in spite of Acura's sport enhancement. I just think Money mistated the TL in that quote when maybe the TLS would have been more appropriate. Just my .02

And from what I've seen you have to go to Europe to get decent aftermarket parts for a BMW....I would assume they're a lot more expensive than aftermarket parts for Japanese cars.

You're arguing with money magazine about car performance.
