Just painted my Y-pipe!
Geez, I caught so much flack for even daring to post a pic of my sway bar without having painted my Y-pipe that I decided to appease everyone, because I'm such a nice guy, and paint it black.
Process was really simple and took no more than 1/2 hour. That's because I let it dry for about 15 min before I applied a second coat!
I must say it really does look much better and I'm glad a gave in to peer pressure!! :smokin:

Is the y pipe where the exhaust splits underneath the back of the car? I've often heard people talking about this mod, but never really knew what they were talking about. Do you have to remove it from the car to paint it? Im not from Cali or the east coast, but the dirty south so we dont have as many modded foreign cars around here so sorry if this is a dumb ??

Didn't have to remove anything. Simply covered the sway bar with newspaper, stuffed newspaper between the pipe and the chassis and started spraying. I made sure to paint just the pipe and not where the pipe is bolted to the exhaust. I didn't want the paint hardening and causing problems in the future at the joints. Looks really good! I will post pics as a soon as I can!
i didnt even cover a thing...
since we dont even have a jack... i backed the rear end into 2 pieces of plywood...then dragged my self under the car...wiped the pipe with some clean wet cloth...let it dry...make sure its clean...then i started painting...i painted something like 5 coats...and then that was it!
haha good luck..its real easy
