Mobile 1 synthetic oil 0W-30

My TL has 50,000 miles and I'd like to start changing my own oil. I've been reading up on Mobile 1 Synthetic 0W-30. Has anyone tried it?
According to what I am reading it reduces engine heat, lubicates faster, slight HP gains and lower fuel consumption due to lighter oil weight creating less parasitic drag on internal engine components....any truth to it?

I have used Mobil 1 for years. I presently use it in my 2000 TL. I change it at 7.5K intervals with a filter. I was using 5W-30 but now that 0W-30 is available, I will be switching to that.
I followed the same protocol with my 84 BMW 318i and the engine continued to run fine (no oil usage and no camshaft lobe wear) with 190K on the clock. (the differential was another story!)

I was running 5w-30 mobil 1 synthetic, but just recently change to 10w-30 valvoline systhetic. Just because I drive my car pretty hard and the weather in florida is very hot. So I wanted a thicker oil to handle the heat of the engine and weather. ![Big Grin](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
