Hey !!!
I bought a 2000 TL few weeks ago.
I had my mechanic look at it - the check engine light was on. My mechanic ran the comp and said there was a misfire and the worst case scenario would be replacing ignition coil. <He wrote the error code on the receipt>. The dealer offered to fix it and gave me a form that specifies that I they will fix.
I called their workshop and am told they replace all 6 ignition coils and will need the exact error code OR wait for the light to show again. The guy at dealership said 'if there was something wrong with ignition coils - the light should have come on by now. If it comes on again, bring it in and we will fix it.'
I have a year more of extended bumper-bumper.
What do you guys think?
