Ya:
So far I've only been getting 17-18 mpg too. Mostly city tho. Hoping it's just because its not fully broken in yet. I have read threads where some were getting 24-26. Wazzz up with that??

I guess I am one of the lucky ones here! I drive mostly city, 20 miles to work, 20 miles back Monday thru Friday. Sometimes go out at nite just to see who is cruising, not that I am LOOKING for any trouble!! I have checked my mileage for almost every tank. I have 6700 miles on my baby and usually get at least 24 MPG and if half of that is highway driving, maybe 27 MPG. I use premium gas ONLY from AMOCO (93 Octane Ultimate). I admit during the first couple thousand miles it was unpredictable.

My absolute worst mileage so far has been 21 mpg, and that's almost all city driving. Other than that one fill-up, my worst has been 24 mpg with mixed city/highway driving.

My driving is usually city....get 20-22 depending upon my right foot restraint.. I did take it on a trip to Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri when it had right about 1K miles on it. Driving down I got 29.9...driving back I got 30.1 and that was with cruise set at 82 and the climate control on. I was impressed! I think you guys will find that if you go on a long trip with the cruise set you will get over 30 mpg. Honda engines are very efficient on the highway, but lose efficiency around town more than they should. At least that has been my, and some friends, experience.

I now have close to 17,000 miles on my TLS and I usually get around 29-30 on the hwy and have gotten as high as 33mpg for a couple of tanks here and there. In the city, I've never gotten worse than 22.

Loving my 08 TLS!
WTF, I only get 20mpg and the most 23mpg in mixed city and highway driving!! I have 7500 miles so far... must be the no brand name 93 octane gas I use. Oh well, save me a couple of bucks during each fill up.

I got just over 21 mpg on my first tank of mixed city/highway, and just over 25 mpg on the next, with just a bit more highway travel. Still working on the third tank, but I don't expect to see an improvement, since I'm about to pass the break in period and my foot is likely to get heavy.

Oh, and BTW I got my 29 mpg with A/C on full blast, 5 people, loaded trunk, while driving in a combination of the following conditions: bumper to bumper, stop and go, no faster than 20 mph traffic for 20 miles or so (4 times); cruise control at 85 mph for 100 miles; driving on steep mountain roads; while riding on tires running at 24 psi; a half-dozen or so short-distance romps at 110+ mph; and finally, all this while burning Arco gas.
Did I forget to mention that I was driving no higher than 4th gear, with the rear windows open, and with binding brakes, too?
Of course y'all know I'm just foolin'

In the city when I am alone in the car, I think the lowest I ever got was 23 MPG. In the highway, with 4 other passengers, A/C on full auto, speed at 70-80 MPH, my best has been 33.4 MPG. On the average I am getting 23/32.

We usually get about 20-23 in/around town, short trips. On the highway we get as high as 30.
The worst we've gotten is 19.6 on the first tank or two. Of course, my wife drives most of the time and she is very easy on the throttle.
5500 miles on the clock so far.

One thing that somebody touched on that affects fuel consumption is the brand of gas you use. Some brand even if they're the same octane really blow. Personally this Citgo gas in my area is the WORST. I see my mpg drop alot when I use that stuff. Mobil/Shell/Amoco are all about the same, but IMO Sunoco has the best gas. I get the most mile with that stuff, especially their Ultra 94 ocatane. It's a little more $ but I've notice that on average I get aprox 2-3 mpg more with that stuff so it offsets the cost.

25 to 27 mpg here
I am still driving around in my 99 TL. la la la :p
I drive it a lot. 57k + and counting. I always use atleast 93 octane gas. Prefer the Sunoco brand and if i see a good price on the ULTRA 94 octane i use that. Anyways i get approx 25 to 27 mpg city plus freeway. And if its all freeway i even manage to get 27mpg to 29 mpg sometimes.
Tips of the trade:
1. Oil change every 3000 miles.
2. Rotate tires every 6000 miles.
3. Right tire pressure 32 psi. :p
4. All fluids topped off.
5. Replaced my transmission fluid recently.

With 4,400 miles on the TL-S, I've averaged 26.5, gotten as high as 27.3, and as low as 21 (first tank, with a lead foot). Driving is 50/50 C/H. I use the manual shift to nudge it into 5th as soon as I can. This is still with the break-in oil in the engine.
