19 / 29 I believe. You can get as high as 33 mpg though.

Sounds about right. Funny, I get the same mileage in my '97 TL.

That's a pretty large gap between city and hwy. Anybody know why it's so large?

The high highway mileage is very high due to car's ultra low overdrive gear ratio. Since the engine runs at very low RPMs on the highway, it operates very efficiently.

Thats exactly why. You have a relatively large engine/enough torque that it can be geared low enough on the highway.

Some cars with V8's get in the high 20's on the highway and about 15 to 18 in town. All that torque goes to waste around town.

Good point - Corvette Z06 is EPA rated at 19/28. I have heard of 30mpg on highway trips with it too.

20mpg - 90% city.
Saw some posts for '03 TL-S that did 30-33mpg@80mph. Wonder if my '00 TL (non-S) can get any close.

Best I ever got was 35.5MPG from Pittsburg, CA to Davis, CA on the back highways. One lane in each direction.
