Mileage Service
I'm running across a dilemma whether or not I should service my car for the 30,000 mile service. It seems like all they do is check this, check that and charge you an arm and a leg. Should I just take my vehicle to other repair shops to perform the same thing and pay half the price? What's the pros and cons of having your car serviced at the dealer other than they using acura parts and overcharging you?:wow:
I let an independent garage do the 30K services (yes they use genuine Acura parts). The only good thing about letting the dealer do your service is that when it comes to warranty work, they might be more inclined to help you out if the service your car there regularly.

The dealer tells me (cause my light keeps flashing) that I need a 7500 mile service. Sounds like a very expensive oil change. Am I correct? Can I shut off the light and just go get an oil change? They want $100 for this service!

fulla shiet! I'd say for 7500, just turn the light off yourself and do a oil change yourself...

Re: Mileage Service
I was reading the 30,000 mile service that Park Ave offers and I must say it sounds very comprehensive. They change all the fluids: tranny, oil, brake and coolant along with the filters. The service also checks the normal maintainence items. I'll definately get this done since it's worthwhile. I declined the 15K service because all they do is check everything and only change fluids if your having a problem with something. I generally check everything myself once a month at least to make sure it's alright.
