had...roof rattle, wheel fender crack.
still...passenger buckle rattles when buckled.

otherwise a great car and luving it!

 

just hit 13k miles, bought on May 12th



only problems
*the mileage lights went out.. dealer replaced it with no questions asked. Works great now.

*glove box stopper fell off, dealer fixed.

Had a sunroof rattle which was fixed...
other than that no probs...
loved the car since I test drove it...
Love it even more w/ Springs, Headers, and CAI

 

Just about 13k miles.
Purchased Sept '01. Lets see...

Sunroof rattle -> tape fixed
Rear seat missing button -> replaced entire rear seat
In the process two large scratches to paint -> touched up
touch up paint -> :yack: doesn't match getting panel factory re-painted
Driver's seat buckle rattle -> bolt lubricated, fixed
Mystery rattle on left/rear interior -> still mystery
I think it is where the passenger front seat belt is adjustable on the side of the car. I really don't know yet, have to take a friend driving to borrow their ears It isn't the headliner, noise is lower than that. Don't think it's the seat belt itself, I taped that down as a test. Not the headrest, I removed that as a test.
Paint peel on muffler -> getting repainted
Click noise when rear defroster turned on -> getting looked at next service

I think that's it...

 

7500, purchased July 1, no problems with the car

 

31k miles, had since end of april.

-ran over a median, replaced 4 tires and 3 rims

-seat back warmer, doesn't work--- pending
-windows fail sometimes ---fixed
-pass. door didn't open from inside---fixed

-had ass smudge on window from boning some girl against the side of the car--- washed car!!!

About 34500 miles, purchased 4/24

1) Water leaking in from behind driver's side dash -- noticed first time I washed the car. Fixed by some water leak guru.

2) Sqeaking sunroof -- fixed w/ tape

3) Failed tranny at 8500 miles. Replaced.

4) Warped rotors at about 20000 miles. Resurfaced free of charge.

5) Failed tranny at 26500 miles. Replaced.

6) Too many other squeaks and rattles (all the common ones + some) to worry about fixing.

Even after all of this, there isn't another car out there (for the money) that I would rather drive.

 

- 14420 miles since Sep 12 - Tranny went out last week, still wating to get it back.
- Intermittent problem with front passenger window - won't roll up once all the way down... Anybody else encounter this problem ?
- Noise coming from inside front driver side door when driving over 100 mph, still investigating the source.
- Some squeaking with seat and belt buckle.

Other than that, car is great...

 

Roof raddles, Squeky brakes,2 blown tail lights, dash rattle, i can go on but I still ove the car!

 

Why is it that the newer models of the TL have so many squeaks, rattles and tranny problems. Its getting more and more ridiculous after every year. I have a 99 TL and I havent had even one squeak, rattle and at 74500 miles my transmission is smoother than ever.

The reason of my concern is that I am planning to trade in my car for the 2004 redesigned TL when it comes out and if the quality control is as bad as it is now ... i need to re-think the choice of what my next car ought to be. :yack:

Fixed: sunroof, driver's seatbelt squeak (they replaced the whole belt, but messed up that little tab that covers the screw holding the seat down, which they WILL fix ).
I'm still in love.

 

2500+ miles since 1/24/02
(the 60 mile round trip to work really adds up, but I've gotta pay for the car somehow)

No major prob's to report.

Sunroof does rattle when the moonroof cover is open... quiet when closed... is this the sunroof prob ppl have been talking about? or does it make noise when closed? Yea, yea flame me, I'm too lazy to do a search right now...

Other than the poor quality audio, I love the car.

 

60,000 miles with no major problems:

roof rattles-fixed by deaker
rear window trimming-fixed by dealer
exhaust paint chipping-repainted by dealer with high heat paint

I loved every mile I've driven so far!

 

Yes that is what mine was doing, they have a tape which they can apply to fix. Just mention it next time ur in for service.

 

10,000 Miles (delivery on 6/8/01).

1) Sunroof rattled-fixed
2) Fendtrim- fixed 2X
3) Refurfaced rotors at 5k miles

No problems at all. (knocking on wood)

1. Front rotors replaced by dealer + new softer pads
2. Driver's seat buttom cover replaced (the fake leather cracked)
3. Driver's seat - the frame in the seat was bent and replaced
4. "Select" light bulb is burn out for the trip computer - will be fixed at next pit stop

Not a single problem, never had to go back to the dealer

Dead tranny at around 22K

Other than that (!), all's well....

I do not want another car...

My dealer replaced the seatbelt buckles and that eliminated the problem...I suggest you have them do the same for you.

So...13,500 miles, roof rattle fixed easily, rotors resurfaced and everything else is fvcking amazing!

 

I'd be careful about getting the first year of the new model TL...maybe wait til 2005 comes out in early 2004(?).

 

5000+ miles since June '01. No problem so far.

 

yeah, I brought it in when I was doing my 22,5...they lubed it, but...well...I'll bring it in again next time...

 

~7800 miles - purchased 5/11/01 (how do you guys get so many miles on your cars?)

Problems:

Uneven exhaust tips -> Dealer replaced entire exhaust assembly
Fuzzy stuff coming out of perforated seats -> "Normal"
Lurching at stop light (only in warm weather) -> Dealer didn't find the problem, will have to see if it comes back in the summer

driver's window control module-fixed under recall



just had a complimentary quality check of car (75 point) and
they found no problems.
