Engine Cover thingy ??

What is the engine cover thing that is on lots of the cars in the gallery etc. The gray plastic cover with the 6 pipe like indentions. I hope this ? makes sense.

Those are 99 TL's which used the old manifold design. Same used on the accords and older CL. The 6 pipe indentions are the path to each cylinder to breath air.
