Hey all, this may be a moot point once I get access to a code reader (I seem to have misplaced my OBDII code reader and I haven't had a chance to go by O'Reilly yet).

The other day my MIL, VSA, and /!\ lights all came on while driving. When I turn the car on again, the MIL light is on, and while driving the VSA and /!\ may come on again, but may not. Otherwise the car drives fine.

If I ground the SCS line (short OBD pins 4 & 7) I get these codes from the dash:

ABS: 83 "PGM-FI Communication" which says troubleshoot MIL code first if on
MIL: Blinks "7" continuously
D5: Blinks "4" continuously

Any tips on reading those codes? In the shop manual I see there is a "7" MIL code meaning "Throttle Position Sensor Lower Than Expected", however there is a "70" as well that indicates transmission problems. I'm not sure how "70" would be indicated by the MIL. Also not sure how to read the D5 light in conjunction, I don't see a table for that in the manual.

I wrote these down from the guy at O'Reilly reading them to me from the reader, I'm wondering if P0705 is actually P1705, the code on the reader mentioned the range switch.

 

And now I'm waiting for a tow

Tranny started shifting very poorly, just happened to get to a good place to stop so I pulled over and now it won't move at all.

Time for an AV6.
