Might Transmission Recall Affect Saturn VUE???

Is there ANY way of knowing for sure???

Was there any announcement that as of a certain date the transmissions built from that point forward were modified, and as a result are not defective?

If so where is that announcement?

Where do I find the date code/serial number on my transmission so that I can determine when it was manufactured?

Early 2004 Pilots and Odysseys are included in the recall, while 2003-2004 MDX's are not. Does anybody know for sure why?

My VUE was a late 2004 model introduction, but the V6 VUE's were available from the beginning of the model year. Who knows when GM purchased the powertrains?

Thank you in advance for any help you may offer.

I'm just looking for a little peace of mind.

They are all the same engine series (J) and transmission (5 Spd Auto with grade logic). GM struck a deal with Honda, whereby Saturn gets the 3.5 L SOHC VTEC V-6 and Honda gets some Isuzu engine. (not sure which one)

This is the same engine/transmission that comes in the Acura MDX, Honda Odyssey, and Honda Pilot.

This engine series and transmision combo is, in turn, the same one used in Acura CL/TL's and Honda Accord V-6's.

If you're disappointed now, that will increase twofold once it is announced that Ford is next in line to strike a deal with Honda Motor Co.

i know the engine was used but wasnt aware that they used the tranny too. is it for sure that they used the tranny too? why would gm use a different tranny when they make the best tranny out there
