Might be leaving Acurazine...how much should I expect to get for my car..?

I have had my 99 since Halloween 2006, and have already put 115,000 miles on her and I'm afraid I'm leaning towards letting her go. I have some stories with her; I remember I went to pick her up from Columbus OH and got my first ticket with her on my way home from the dealer just less than 2 miles before I got home. What a start to our relationship! Imagine that.

I have already posted her on eBay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Has-D...item335ae052fc and I just wanna know what you guys think I should expect to get for her.

She has close to 273,500 miles and I think through eBay I might get a better fair market sale than Craigslist (but of course there are fees on eBay).

If she sells, I will write a formal obituary for her and my gratitude to the Acurazine forum.

Not worth selling for 3-4K. Keep it as a DD.

Now I am nervous about losing my car; the bid is already at $1,525 with four days remaining. I guess my car is gone for real

I will be looking for a replacement though, most likely a 2nd Gen Lexus GS300 because I cannot afford the newer TLs.

This is sad, getting sadder by the day, counting down to Sunday...

Yeah, reserve is above $3k.

Now, auction bid is at $1,975 with 12 bids and 32 watchers. Still has until Sunday afternoon.
A guy who owns a TL Type S looking for a car for his son just offered me $3,100. I don't know if he is a member here, but I hope you guys can be on my side...should I take $3,100 and run or wait for the auction to close and see where it ends up in price..?
Help a brother out, any eBay market analysts here..?

usually if a person is pretty interested in a car the bidding will fly up in the last 2 hours but seeing as how many miles and the age of the car i don't think its gonna go up too much. i say counter offer him 3500 and work from there but definately take the deal

I think $3100 is probably a good offer, but agree with 99AcuraTL03, make a counter offer and see what flys. I just picked up an 03 Type S w/163k and paid $4500 for it. The 03's are selling for about $5000 at auction.

Well, I had set my reserve at$3,200 and the guy who wanted to buy it offered me $3,200 when I counter-offered him with $3,500. I waited and now 3 hours before the auction is over he threw in his $3,200 bid but has been outbid by another guy to $3,250.
Problem is that this guy who is winning right now has only one feedback but it says he is a member since 2007. Should I be concerned..?

But, the sad part is that this looks like this is it for me on Acurazine, at least for now. I am in the market for something max $4,500 though, so if anyone knows of something good let me know. First choice would be a 2nd Gen Lexus GS300, don't care much about mileage than history of car; then of course 2nd choice would be another TL but I am scared coz I would like to upgrade to something newer but I cannot afford the 3rd Gen and the newer 2nd Gens have the infamous tranny problem.

no reason to be worried about his feedback. a lot of people don't buy from ebay too often. if you're going for a 2nd gen gs300 its gonna cost more than 4500. they go for about 6g at the auctions for one with about 150k miles. you may be able to get a es for that much but gs is most likely a no unless its salvaged

Winning bid was $4,050 and the guy lives about 3 hours from me. He says he is picking it up on Wednesday.
It is my first time selling something on eBay that I don't have to ship, so should I demand payment immediately..? How are things handled...? Or just wait until Wednesday...what if he disappears, would that be too late to extend a second chance offer to the next highest bidder..?

Money Order, when he comes, go to your bank and deposit it and verify the funds are good before the car leaves.

Wait till Wednesday, then deal with the rest then if he doesnt show.

With the way your car looks you need something better than type-s wheels. Get a nice 18"
You will thank me later
