hey boba, thanx on the compliment in pm.
The tint in my car are metallic. I love it alot because people would not be able to see you in the day time unless you have your sunroof/moonroof open. And at night, people will be able to see the interior a little better due to less light reflection from the sun. Now, I personally thought it look hella good on my car cus my car is in T. White... I'm pretty sure it'd look fabulous on your car as well due to the color of your car...saweeeet~
I think it's good that people will be able to see the your interior alittle better at night because you don't want any po-poz to get on your back giving you tickets for your tint... Plus if you have NAVI~~~~awwww dang!~
with the lights coming from the NAVI, I don't think the Po-Poz will ever give you a hard time because they'd be able to see you. (speaking from many experiences and also according to my cop friend.)
As for disadvantages, I recall reading some post regarding the NAVI, satellite signals would be affected and sometimes detoured by the tint... but I have not come across such incident... at least not yet...(it's been more than a year since the tint.)
:p

I want to see a picture of the classy silver metallic tint. I was gonna go with the Quantum one for my future White Diamond Pearl TL.....but I would think the silver one would match more. The Quantum is a green reflective tint. Post some pics...I want to know how it looks on a white car. And where can I get this tinted?
Hey boba...if you decide to get the tint..and I do also...wanna get it together? cause i know they give us a hook up price if we have two cars getting the tint.

I have 3M metallic tint 37%
At 37% you can still see through, but my friend(the one who has the 540) got the darkest tint. It is like looking at a mirror almost. Nearly impossible to see through, unless you have the sunroof open.
Regarding NAVI, I have had some problems with it...sometimes it would have me going places I really am not. Radio doesn't seem effected though. NAVI problem only happens occasionally. I dont know *why* it affects NAVI though...it's not supposed to. Maybe its psychological?
Thats my 2 cents on it anyways

Yeah.....I might know a place.....it's my friend's shop. I'm going to check if he can get the silver tint. Keep in mind tho...it's illegal due to the fact that it blinds people. we can also try a place called "Pro Tint" in Rosemead, I heard they have it. But since I don't know them...i doubt there will be much of a hook up.

I have the metallic tint on my Black 99. I looks great. I had it done here in San Diego for 250...out the door. That included my back 3 (5 if you include the little ones in the door) and front 2 sides. I used the darkest (my tint came in light, med, dark) on my back windows and lightest on my front 2. It keeps your car a lil cooler in the summer (great for black cars) and keeps your seat & stuff from fading. The best thing about it is that it doesn't fade...So know purple stuff on your windows after a couple years. By the way I went to Tint Devil.

pro tint
I got my windows tinted at Pro Tint along Rosemead in Temple City. They have two types of tint: metallic and dyed. I opted for the metallic in a light tint of 43%. They did my four windows and the entire rear glass including the matrix dots at the top. Cost me $150 with some minor haggling.
Since it's such a light shade of tint, it's not super mirror-reflective. I imagine a darker shade of this stuff would be more mirror-like. I didn't want to go darker cause I wanted a clean look to it and didn't want to be confused for a gangsta.
Navi and radio work fine too with this tint. Getting a darker metallic tint might cause interference too, so be warned.

SunShield in Sherman Oaks is one of the best tint places I've ever heard of, and their prices are good unless you start doing outrageous things. I took my car there to get tinted (not metallic though), and they were just finishing up a matched pair of Ferrari Maranellos, so I felt good about their rep
