Does it remember its horizontal position? Is it just the vertical that's an issue?

My wife's MDX drivers side mirror has a similar issue. always going to the wrong horizontal position. I have a replacement mechanism I bought to swap in. I think that the position is determined based on changes in resistance; after a while the mechanism fails to be able to find/determine the desired position, but the actuators will still be able to move the mirror about freely.

My TL's mirrors have never been a problem. I'm thinking that they may have lost that memory feature as the car has aged, something like some of us people ! ha, hah !!!!!

You can purchase just the motor mechanism. On the MDX you have the remove the door panel and cut wires, so I keep putting it off (it's her car anyways).

My TL had the same problem. I eventually just reset the memory seat and didn't make a setting but just left it. There is a perfect spot though that will remember the vertical position but only for a few weeks then it goes back to the same problem. It's almost like if you let the mirror angle down when in reverse it doesn't come back up all the way.
