Post Members feedback wanted

Well I am going to release my new AutoCarParts site in a few weeks, and I just wanted to hear feedback from you guys, on what you thought
http://64.212.33.153/index.php3

Also, AOL users, tell me how the graphics look, espically the ones in the top left in the red, ordering, policies, tracking and contacts.
I was at my father-in-laws house. checking it out on his pc (which is only a couple years old) and he is on AOL, and the picures looked terrible! You couldn't even make out it was an S200, or on tracking, that is was a UPS truck. I can't figure out why it looks different on his
So I am hoping this post will help me figure it out

Please respond with your comments

Snook:
In AOL, there if you go into Internet Options, (this can be in different places depending on the version of AOL) there is an option to use compressed graphics- take that check box off. What AOL does to make it seem faster is water down the jpg's and gif's to make them load faster. They end up as .ART files and the quality sucks! I would change that option and see if it looks any better. Also, make sure that his computer is running at least 16K colors, as 256 would look crappy also.

Do other web pages look right in AOL?

The site looks great (layout, menus). FYI... the link to the comptech accessory details was not working.

Tim,

The site looks great. I did have a couple of suggestions.

For subcategories could the default be "All Subcategories" instead of "Select a subcategory"?

I prefer to have the OK be a button instead of just underlined text.

When I am searching for items everything is pushed to the left of the screen. Would it be possible to keep it from looking "smooshed"?

I liked the "someshit" vehicle. What exactly does that look like?

There should be a TL in the red behind "acp".

Tim,

Centering the information helped but now can you space out the Make:, Model:, and Trim:?

You might also want to increase the font size. I have my IE browser text set to Medium (default) and at 1024x768 it could be a little difficult to read.

Tim, Webpages look great!
But, isn't that pic of that girl on the Contacts page from the attws.com webpage?

https://ecare.attws.com/dss/gateway/new-99/1/shep-ocs

It's ok to use that pic? Just wondering.

So far so good.

On the ordering page, you may want to change the logos of the credit cars so they stand out a bit as well as emphasize the secure ordering on the site.

Now I just got a HTTP 404 error... it looks like the IP address is a cable modem so I wonder if the computer got turned off or something?

SIte looks good..

comments:
1. How about having vehicle image so we can see what the rims are going to look like on our car. Similar to tirerack's page.

2. The frame should be loaded all the time so regardless of where the user clicks there is always menu on the top. Right now from what I saw, it reloads everytime I go to a new page.

Other than that it looks good.

Well, one thing I noticed was if I did a search for stuff for my car, it showed a grouping, but each grouping had every one of those types of products from that maker.... Would be sweet if it only showed stuff for the chosen car in that grouping.... Would be a lot more work though.

Looks nice, but I think you should put a "GO" button next to the model selection when choosing what car you have to see if the item fits your application..I don't like the "OK" link..looks unprofessional, IMO

Thanks for the feedback guys! I've been doing all the PHP/MySQL for Tim's new site.

Hehe, gotta love how everyone picks on the aesthetics. Better go fix that OK link! All pages except the homepage need some artistic help (I'm a dev not an artist ) and I'm sure that will make it even easier to find what you're looking for.

If you need some web work done, drop me a mail!

The product descriptions are excellent. Good job overall.

You should make the ACP logo more prominent at top. I think it would make the branding of the site more memorable for surfers passing by.

I tried all resolutions and color setings..

grishulia thanks! I know its not easy to get a thumbs up from you

Acura3200 that has to be what it is! That would explain it. I will check his settings.
. And he has a good picture. I went to DELL's site for a test and there picture was clear on there main page
Anyway I can make the graphics better for AOL users ? makes the site look bad

bigspoof tell me how you got there and I'll check
The item describtion pages are not up. But not sure what you mean not working...

TLinKC >>For subcategories could the default be "All Subcategories" instead of "Select a subcategory

I like that suggestion.

and about being "smooshed", I also agree, I need to do something there, i tried this by moving it into the middle, but I don't know, maybe side by side ???

LOL, I am going to have a car or logo for each vehicle, on there page, like I have now for manufacture

Thanks for the feedback guys, keep it coming good or bad, I want to know.
