Is Meguires Scratch X any good?

Okay, is Meguires scratch x any good? I might buy it tomorrow to use it because I have a few lite scratches. If I buy the Meguires Scratch X what else should I buy with it?

It works great for me. I have a Jeep Grand Cherokee which was keyed and I managed to cover the scratch pretty good with the Scratch-X. The trick is to use your thumb covered with a cloth and polish the scratch area until your thumb feels really hot and burn. You would notice the scratch area will magically disappear.

Good Luck.

I use it and think it works great. Also purchase Meguiars NXT while you are at it.

Works for me. A little elbow grease and ScratchX works like a charm.

It looks nice right after you use it, but don't be surprised if some of the scratches "appear" to come back. While it does remove some, it fills in the rest. You can verify this yourself; do a small area then clean it with a good cleaner.

No. 3M is much more abrasive; I think too abrasive. I use the 3M first, followed by the finer Scratch-X.

If you wash the area with a dish washing detergent you may notice the difference before/after; I do and am bummed.

WHat about the 3M scratch remover? Does it work in the same way that the Scarch-X works?

Do you mean 3M's Swirl Mark Remover ? I haven't compared the two, but I'd say 3M's SMR would be more agreesive than Meg's Scratch X. But in general, it should do the same thing. I find following Scratch X, Meg's #9 SMR works really well.

yes. scratch x is a polish. it has an abrasive in it to help cut through the clear coat to help smooth out the imperfection. it is recomended to wax the area afterwards when using these types of products
