i'm racing this man with a stock MB 420 tomarrow night, am i
f#$%ed, i'm sure this man knows how to drive, i guess, i don't know really, i got some times for the MB, 0-60===7.2, n 15.4 for the 1/4mile, but this is from edmunds and car-stats, anyone have any exp. with this car, it's not a prob. if i get waxed, but i don't want to...

ive raced my friends 92 S400, and he basically has my TlP.

 

yea E420, it's gotta to be a 97 or older, but a 4.2L V8 puttin out only 275 HP, i don't know, i looked up some times that those times where from C&D, man... i'm just lookin for hope, but i still show, i don't got a prob. wit losin....

 

The 420 and 430 put out the same horses ut the 430 puts out more torque, kinda like the gs400 and 430. Yes, this car will give you the of your life.

 

You have a large chance of getting spnaked in the higher speeds! Off the line you will take him, but once you hit fourth, you're toast. I raced a 2001 S430 off the line and I kept neck to neck, then I can see him pull away at about 60 mph, but we had to quit. Good luck and let us know!

 

you guys should be about even unless you have to hit 4th gear on our cars....but that E420 isnt that fast...trust me

 

i'll never go to 4th, 120mph is fast enough, the man is a #ick, he called me out for a some reason, i'll explain later...

Even before 4th gear you'll lose. At best, you'll keep up with him from 0-30 or 40 max then bye bye.

My 400SE tops out at 5100lb with 3/4 tank of gas.... from stand still, 400SE is no match for even TL-P... but good luck out run it at 50mph and up.... and in to triple digits, you are history..... my brother basically gave me a Riceboy-Style Fly-By in when he was driving 400SE.... I looked as if I was stand-still in my TLS at mid-upper range acceleration.....

E420/E430 are fast.... and should be neck to neck up to about 40mph, where they will just jump on TL-P, and keep pulling.....

I hate to tell you but you are about to get destroyed. My buddy has an ML430 truck that I drive all the time and I could be wrong but I could swear that thing could tear my TL a new a**. The reason I mention it is because that truck has the same 4.3L V8 as the E and S class sedan, is AWD running 275/70/17s all around, and still pulls harder than my TL both off the line and on the freeway. You'd think that the AWD would slow it down but no, believe me it doesn't. I would gather that if you were about to race an E class sedan, you'd really be in for an a** whoopin. Those 420s and 430s are no joke.

 

Well just race him up to 40-50 mph then stop and said that you whooped his a$$!

Seriously, any longer than 50 mph you will get walked on.

 

he never showed, maybe it was for the best, but i still raced a lude, him and some other lude raced before me, i dont know if he's the one who won, b/c they were the same color car, either way i lined up with one of em, we started bout the same, both power slidin, but he hooked up before me n he just kept on pullin...oh well...but man, there was this RX-7 n 5.0stang goin at it, they both couldn't get traction of the line, so we all had to push the cars as they launched...have you noticed burnt rubber kind of smells like dead fish?

 

well he just emailed me, he like lets race but i'ma kill, his kill list has a 97 cobra n a lighting, man i'm F#%&ed, please someone tell me he's lying...

 

one of my dad's friends had a 97 E420 AMG and that thing was FAST:wow:

 

E420/E430 does 0-60 in mid 6's, somethings even better, and 1/4 in high 14's/low 15's....

Hm... as for E420 killed Cobras and Lightnings.... unless it's a early 90's Cobra.... late 90's and '02 Cobras should have no problem leaving E420 in dusts..... Lightning trucks.... hm... don't even try unless you have an E55 AMG...
