Maybe a stupid question but

is there any reason an Acura can't be serviced at a Honda dealer? Don't they use the same parts for the most part? This is something I just was thinking about a couple days ago.

Who said that Acuras can't be serviced at Honda? Yes they can. And you might also save money by servicing your TL at Honda (i.e. cheaper labor rates etc). I was told by a service advisor that any parts they don't have can usually be ordered, delivered, and installed the same day.

I've seen hondas parked at my local acura service department, and vice-versa. So I'm guessing

You and many other people were thinking this a couple of days ago. If you do a simple search, you will find your answer:

they can be serviced there, but typically you wont get warranty work done there.

^^^ i agree i live five hours from an Acura dealer but three or four minutes from the honda dealer, i was told that warranty work would need an authorization from Acura and then its up to your honda dealer to do the work...if honda refuses to do the work then you will pay out of pocket then wait up to six weeks for a refund from acura cs

I do the oil changes at a Honda dealership then for major services go to the Acura dealership. No problems since most of the parts do overlap and the diagnostic equipment will be the same.

A lot of Acura parts are available from Honda and I find them cheaper than Acura when they do have them.
