For those with the Comptech drop-in filter, which side is up? The red side or the yellow side?

I just took the car out for a quick spin on the expressway. I do feel a slight difference but maybe its all it my head. I will say the car shifts smoother. I will let you know tomorrow after i drive to work and back.

It's a replacement for your stock air filter, it's freer flowing and is cleanable, unlike the stock one..

NO WAY!

A drop in filter just replaces the one in the stock intake. CAI actually replaces the intake with a longer one which will extend further down to cooler air.

What do you mean by better? You will get a more noticeable performance with a CAI than with a filter. Just do some research on this site on CAI and you will better understand how it works. Hope this helps!
