I own one and i love it. Very highly rated. Dont have to deal with a cord. Good battery life.

How easy is it to see the display during the day... I hear bad review about it. This was discussed on the A-CL forum a while back..

Solo2 maybe the best cordless detector but cordless will never be as good as corded ones. Just buy a 8500 and hardwire it.

Y is that? What benefits come with a corded detector that don't come with a cordless One? Not quite sure there is a real difference other than the fact that one has a cord and the other doesn't

1st solo2 is more expensive than 8500

2nd cordless goes into sleep mode to preserve battery life, while corded ones are always at full scan. hence corded 8500 is better. cordless are more for bikes.

You can cord the Solo... If you previously owned a escort you can reuse the cord and cord the solo to be constantly on full scan..
