Question Maintenence Required Light

Alright... Got in the car this mornin' to leave for work... Started the car up and the Maintenance Required Light blinks for roughly 10 seconds and goes away... I was wondering if it is because I need an oil change?? Or is it for somethin else?? I have had the car for a month and a half now, and I haven't changed the oil in it, and there isn't a sticker in the car showing when the last oil change was... I have checked the oil and everything seems fine... I have been planning on getting the oil changed and getting a all around tune up of the car when I get the $$... Anybody know what this could be?? Thanks for any and all help...

Look at the manuel.

It's just a service reminder that HONDA has.

To reset it, press & hold both RESET & SELECT button. While you holding 2 buttons, put the key in ignition (II position) all the indicator will turn on. Wait until maintenance light goes off(usually about 10 sec).

yup oil change time....you can reset the light yourself if you don't plan on changing oil soon and the lights annoys you like it does me.

The Maint req light is based off the odometer. Even if you chaged your own oil yesterday, it'll still think it's time for a service.

How many miles does it go till it lights up again after a reset?? Cause you would think it would be 3,000 miles right?? But I have driven the car a little over 4,000 miles already and it just popped up... or is it set at a different amount of miles?

the light will stay on longer when u start up the car... once you hit the 7500 mark interval, it will stay on. so if you dont know when the last oil change was done i would guess that youre around 5000 off from ur last oil change

I forget the exact miles that the light will start to blink again after reset but like said its in the owners manual. But it will always come on at the same preset mileage after reset I think its every 6,500 then it will stay on constant after about 500 when the car is on.

did you find the reset procedure in threads -also in the diy section

left hand thru top of steering wheel to press both trip buttons
right hand operates key
If you do it wrong, all that happens is the outside temp display-moves a few degrees`
