Maintenance Required Light
Hello again, I have a quick question to ask, last nite on my way home from a friends house my Maintenance Required light came on and i dont know why i just took it to jiffy lube to get a oil change and they didnt mention anything unusual or fluids being low. I checked my owners manual but just my luck the page I need is missing. I just got the car (used) so maybe because of the milage the system is set up automatically to have it checked at a certain point. Maybe there is something minor that I can take care of myself, or could this actually be a bigger problem? Any idea what this light means and is it safe to drive until I get a chance to get to the dealer?

Three Wheelin'
it's normal. Goes on after certain amount of kilometers/miles.
To reset it do the following
-With the keys out of the ignition, press and hold both the select and reset buttons (to the left of your speedometer and RPM's gauge)
-Put the key in the ignition and turn it to the Position II (the state at which everything is functioning, but the engine is not on)
-Wait until the maint. light goes out, and continue holding the Select and reset
-When light goes out, turn the car on, and release the buttons, your light should now be reset.
Take care...hope this helps.

So there probably isnt anything wrong, its just a precaution that I should check everything at that point make sure the brakes, fluids, ect... are okay and working properly and that nothing needs replacing. If I wanna get real technical just follow the "maintenance self check list" that I glanced at in the manual. Am I understanding this correctly?

DO NOT take your car to Jiffy Lube. They killed my prelude by not doing everything they say they did on the checklist. If you don't buy it, go to www.planetfeedback.com and search on shared letters for Jiffy Lube and see all the horror stories. This is not a place for your TL.
